2016 Audi Q3 8U 2.0TFSI Quattro Acoustic Alarm on Lock and Unlock Demonstration!

Some coding we did a little while back which saw this Audi Q3 have acoustic alarm beep on lock and unlock activated, as well as a toggle control for the feature added to the vehicles media screen.

Remote Session - London to Leicester - 2017 Volkswagen Polo GTI Discover Pro System Upgrade and App-Connect Activation!

The owner of this vehicle was not happy with the basic media system it was supplied with and wanted to upgrade to something with a larger screen and Apple CarPlay / Andriod Auto. The owner had already sourced the replacement unit and screen, and indeed fitted it, but as with many systems in these modern cars VW’s Component Protection kicked in and disabled the unit. After finding that the VW dealers were not willing to help the owner reached out to our partner @vagprouk, who set up a conversion and ultimately hosted this coding session.

Using genuine tools, applications and licensing VAG Car Coding was able to remove the replacement MIB2 unit Component Protection, Code the unit to support the vehicles features and then officially activate VW’s App-Connect, thus giving access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto… all genuine and recorded against the vehicles digital records.

2011 Audi A7 4G 3.0TDI Sportback Level Control Reprogramming and S-Tronic Re-calibration!

The owner of this vehicle reached out to VAG Car Coding after a “so called” VAG specialist tried to lower the car but managed to remove all level control configuration instead, which is strange considering that they were not using the level control system to do this, they were installing new hardware. Their works rendered his active suspension “inactive”, resulting in a terrible ride and triggered various issues with the vehicles automated systems, from adaptive cruise control through to lane assist, everything stopped working! Other specialists did not want to know, Audi did not want to know but issues like this are not a problem for VAG Car Coding!

Using genuine VW Group tools and applications we were able to completely recode the suspension system and get all the systems back up and running again, but while on the test drive we noticed that the automatic gearbox was very “clunky”, so we then performed a full re-calibration and adaptation drive which returned the gearbox to normal operation.

vagcarcoding! Where have you been?!

It’s been a bit quiet on our social media for a little while now and some thought that we had faded away. Well we never left, we were just too busy to post!

The reality is that its been a crazy busy period for VAG Car Coding which has seen us trying to maintain our “business as usual” while researching and designing new products & services offerings, investing in new tools and applications together with official training and expanding on our Business Services. Yup, not just a guy with a VCDS cable me! VAG Car Coding is committed to being at the top of the coding game and now provides professional support to some of the biggest VAG modifying companies around the globe! This is all great but its prevented social media activity and updates, so lets get posting again!

2017 Audi RS6 4G OEM Keyless Entry Retrofit and OEM Reverse Camera Coding!

Noticing a strange trend, that people are factory ordering high end vehicles with really bad specifications! Who factory orders a new RS6 without a Reversing Camera let alone without Keyless Entry?! The other day we had an S3 8V over that had Super Sports Seats, B&O but no Reversing Sensors! Maybe he was not planning on ever going backwards?

This RS6 is basically new, but has been purchased used approved by a UK broker who was contracted to source for the Middle East. There were no vehicles in the dealer network that met the customers specification so this vehicle was purchased with a view to adding all the missing specification. Following a Remap and Akrapovic Exhaust it was time for VAG Car Coding to get to work!

The customer wanted a reversing camera, which this broker tried to retrofit however there were a few issues which we sorted out. The customer had also specified Keyless Entry which was a little more challenging but ultimately not and issue for us as we have the tools, training and experience to take on large project like this which requires not only software coding but firmware works, Key and IMMO security works also.

2015 Audi A4 B8 2.0TDI Avant MMI3G High Region Change and Navigation Data Update!

The original owner of this vehicle purchased it in Australia, exporting it to the UK when he moved back. Once in the UK he had the MMI system converted from its Australian region to European, via a hacker..... but the system was working without issue, happy days! The vehicle was then sold a short time later and developed a few issues, unrelated to the MMI, and was taken to Audi under warranty.

What’s this got to do with the MMI hacking? While the car was being repaired Audi reset the vehicles software configuration to its default state, which reset the MMI back to its original region as it had not been officially completed... and Audi had no idea how to change it to Europe and wanted to charge over £1500.00 for a new MMI Unit! Escalations within Audi did not help and furthermore they voided the warranty of the MMI and related systems!

The owner took the car back and happened upon us via google while looking for help. After a short conversation we booked him in and sorted the issues out..... officially!

2013 Audi A3 8V 20.TDI Sportback Genuine OEM and Licensed Cruise Control Retrofit!

With all recent VW Group Vehicles retrofitting Cruise Control is not just a case of fitting parts andcoding the related control modules anymore. Features like this are controlled via a licence code, much like Microsoft Windows. “SWaP” - Software as a Product. Parts can only be NEW and can only be retrofitted via an authorised provider. All used SWaP parts on eBay can only be installed via hacking or be used as replacements, which is funny as this retrofit cost less than a hacked one.

Remote Session - London to Scotland - New Car Configuration and Diagnostic Check!

He has had the car for a little while now but back when @Aoon_M first collected it he wanted to make sure that all was well with this stunning example of the Audi R8 V10 Plus! While all was ok with the car diagnostics wise it would seem that a few control modules were coded a little different to when the vehicle first rolled out of the factory. VAG Car Coding has direct access to vehicle factory records and we restored all the original coding in order to set a base line from which to start the modding! We also have direct access to vehicle firmware and performed a control module audit in order to make sure that this vehicle was 100% up to date….. oh, and we also installed Speed Camera Data to the vehicles MMI system

Testing Session with @im_conrad and his monster Audi RS3!

So clean you could eat your dinner off it, this Audi RS3 is possibly one of the cleanest cars I see! Today, well last year actually, we were testing Rear Differential coding and had this RS3 performing controlled drifts, in the dry, while the local B&Q and Costa Coffee customers watched! Even with the new Michelin PS4’s and the MSS Kits LS suspension setup we had the vehicle sideways with no issues!

2014 Audi A3 8V 1.4TFSI Sportback Reversing Camera and Audi Sound System Retrofits!

The owner of this vehicle chose this A3 to be his daily workhorse but fast realised that the standard Sound System was not up to scratch and he was missing the reversing camera he had in his previous car!

VAG Car Coding retrofitted the OEM front centre and rear subwoofer speakers to upgrade this basic sound system to the Audi Sound System, internal amplifiers additional outputs were activated and additional tone control added to the systems tone controls. The result is an improved sound system for a very reasonable cost!

An OEM Reversing Camera was installed and while this vehicle only had rear parking sensors we also activated the parking graphic which is normally reserved for cars with both front and rear sensors. We also activated the following:

•Acoustic Alarm Beep on Lock
•Acoustic Alarm Beep on Unlock
•Acoustic Alarm Beep on and off Toggle Option added to MMI Menu
•Passenger Mirror Dip when in reverse Gear
•Needle Sweep
•Pre and Post works diagnostic scans completed

All parts used are genuine NEW Audi OEM complete with 2 year warranty!

2017 Audi A3 8V Black Edition 2.0TFSI MTM Stage 1 Saloon OEM RS Grill Fitting!

Today, well a while a go now actually, we replaced the standard black edition front grill for a genuine OEM Audi RS3 facelift Saloon grill, in piano black with parking sensors. Love these Thinkware Dashcams! Simple to use, built in power management, great video quality and no DAB interference. This installation was hardwired to the vehicle fuse box and all the wires completely hidden, insurance safe as all the wiring has been routed under and around all the vehicles airbags and motion sensitive parking mode enabled.

2015 Audi S3 8V Sportback Coding and Dashcam Fault Finding Session!

Got to love the theme / look the owner of this Audi S3 is going for. Blacked out front end with RS Grill and Maxton Design Splitter, Rigger Rear Diffuser and more blacked out badges!

VAG Car Coding first saw this vehicle a while ago for an initial coding session. One of the modifications we made was to disable the exhaust flaps to that they remain open in all drive select modes. The owner has since had a centre box / resonator delete which has improved the exhaust sound however there was now a drone when on the motorway. The flaps have now been re-activated and the drone removed.

The owner also installed his own single channel Dashcam which had stopped working and he needed a little assistance in getting it up and running again. Not a problem for VAG Car Coding. A Fuse and Wiring issue was diagnosed and resolved!

Lastly we reconfigured the vehicles Throttle Pedal Response Behaviour to be Direct rather than “over time” and thus removing a lot of the “lag” people with Automatic / DSG / S-Tronic gearboxes experience.

Brand new and Genuine OEM parts fitted, activated and then coded in order to provide the OEM subwoofer control. We even went as far as to change the MIB units start screen to include the SEAT Sound Logo, basically making this a true factory style OEM installation… oh and we coded the carbon background MFD while we were at it because we are good like that!

2016 Audi A6 4G 2.0TDI Quattro Saloon Genuine Audi Smartphone Interface Activation!

This vehicle came supplied with an MIB2 MMI Technology pack media unit however the Audi Smartphone Interface feature was greyed out as Audi did not build the car as per the order sheet, they missed off a few options doh! The owner reached out to VAG Car Coding in order to have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto activated and we were only to happy to help via supplying a genuine OEM licence and online activation, all recorded against this vehicles chassis number and VW Groups database record.

Now given Audi’s screw up the owner had Park Assist, Ambient Lighting and a Reversing Camera retrofitted. The Smartphone Interface activation needed to recode the vehicle MIB unit and removed the coding for these options as they were not completed via an Authorised VW Group Services Provider. Not a Problem for VAG Car Coding, as we have the tools and the knowledge to get everything coded up and working again.
