Hey guys, thought I'd get up a little project thread to keep track of my B6 which I picked up last Sunday.

First a little background on my previous cars. My previous car list goes like so:
- 1997 Ford Fiesta Si
- 2000 Ford Fiesta Zetec S
- 2002 Ford Fiesta Zetec S
- 2002 Ford Focus RS
- 2013 Ford Fiesta ST
- 2014 Ford Focus ST
- 2015 Ford Focus ST
- 2016 Ford Kuga Titanium X Sport

As you can see, I have absolutely no experience outside of Fords (mainly because I work in engine testing and development at Ford, so it's what I know best), but I'm glad to be in the Audi and I'm confident I'll put my own mark on it!

I have plenty of plans in my head of what I want to do, but these may change as I go along.

Completed mods:
Black S-Line badges

Purchased but not fitted:
CEUK LED side light bulbs
CEUK LED reverse bulbs
CEUK LED number plate bulbs
CEUK Illuminite 6500k dipped beam bulbs
EGR delete (with hole to keep EML off)
B6UK club stickers

Planned mods:
Black honeycomb upper grill
Custom black honeycomb lower grill
Black rear Audi rings
Blacked out rear chrome strip
Tinted rear windows
Diadem indicator bulbs
Wind deflectors
B5 front spring perches
Remap
Decat
Darkside Developments full EGR delete
New wheels (18" Le Mans replicas)
Leon Cupra R front splitter
Springs/coilovers

Right, here are the only decent pictures I have so far, but I'll try and get some more over the coming days.

I should hopefully have some more updates when I get home tonight as I'll have a chance to get a few of the new bits fitted.

Thanks for looking!

Car looks good Josh. We look forward to your changes. :)

Just nipped out from work and fitted my EGR blanking plate, which took all of about a minute :tearsofjoy:

I won't get a chance to drive the car and see if I can notice any difference until later, but we'll see. I'll get the entire assembly off eventually, give it a good clean up and more than likely fully delete the EGR once I'm ready to map it.

Nice Avant and looks great in blue, Mauritius blue by any chance? As it sounds like you what to de-chrome it have you thought about the roof bars aswell :tearsofjoy:Look forward to the progress and updates.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's Mauritius Blue, is there an easy way of confirming that?

I did consider it, and I've done exactly the same on my Kuga, however if the wheels stay silver, they may well do too.

Right, a couple of little updates.

Firstly, I got round to fitting my B6UK sticker. Still waiting on my Audi-Sport one, so that will be on as soon as it arrives.

Next, I fitted my uprated bulbs. I went for the following:

- CEUK LED side lights
- CEUK IllumiNite ice white H7 dipped beams
- CEUK LED number plate lights
- CEUK LED reverse lights

All fitted without issue, and no errors on the dash so far!

Next up is to get the bodywork up to scratch. I may do the odd little bit here and there in between, but that's the plan!

Welcome aboard!

And nice Avant. They look great in Blue - but then, I'm biased.

Lots of help here for your Avant, have you thought of a S4 grill rather than honeycomb? I had a Votex honeycomb one for a little while but sold it on.

I hadn't to be honest, but may look in to one now you mention it!

Whipped off my upper and lower standard grills this morning to give them both a quick lick of black paint. I was going to black out the Audi rings too, but decided to keep them chrome for now.

Paint is just drying, but I'll probably refrain from posting any pictures until they're refitted tomorrow morning :D

Definitely keep the chrome rings, be proud of the badge.

Right, fitted my blacked out grills, along with the rear boot/bumper trim. I can't decide whether I like the trim or not, but I love the grills.

Grills will be replaced with honeycomb replacements eventually, but these will do for now!

You may find the bumper strip fits in better with black tailgate rings.

That's not bad to be honest. I'll measure mine up when I'm home and have a look :)

I grabbed a couple of quick shots on the way to work this afternoon, seeing as it's been a while since I've posted any up.

Unfortunately the quality seems to be massively reduced, so I'll try and get the full res up tomorrow.

I'm hoping to get out this evening at some point to get some without the harsh direct sunlight.

Hey Kneller,

Nice B6... talking of Chrome mine seems to have had some wing mirror covers put on in it's lifetime. Not sure if they were a factory fit but I quite like them. I've only had mine since last month so still working my way around a few bits. Love what you've done to the grille... I may have to follow suit!

Not a flattering shot but here's mine.. I have a thread in the project section.

Looking good Ollie! I've never been one for chrome on cars, personally, so that had to go in my opinion. I'll check out your thread too.

No I know you can't, and they're not really anywhere near, but they're some of the whitest headlight bulbs I've personally used, so I'm happy with them until I upgrade to LEDs/Xenons.

As I mentioned earlier, I've grabbed a couple more pics this evening in more flattering light, which I'm pretty happy with. New wheels are definitely one of the next mods..

I ordered myself a USDM lighting kit today, which will keep the front indicators slightly illuminated when the sidelights are switched on, sort of like in the picture above. They're only powered by 5W, which then flashes at the full 21W when the indicators are switched on.

Hopefully they'll turn up over the weekend and I'll get a couple of pictures and videos up when I've managed to get them fitted.

Little video showing the USDM lighting in action now I've got it all fitted and wired up!

Fitted my new splitter the other day. Cheap and cheerful but does the job perfectly and is something a little different to the normal Cupra splitter.

I've not been on here for a while to update, but I've done a couple of little bits since my last post..

Firstly, I've fully deleted the EGR and cooler. One hell of a mucky job, but I'm glad it's done! Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of that at the minute.

She also had her first MOT under my ownership, which she sailed through with only tyres as an advisory, which I was fully aware would need replacing, so I've just had a full set of Vredestein Ultrac Satins fitted. They seem very good so far, but still early days!

23192110 10155738798799795 221193965 o

I've also recently fitted black Audi rings at the back, deleted the A4 badge, fitted a set of Heko wind deflectors, yellow tinted the front fogs and fitted my personal plate. I also fitted an LED headlight conversion to the car, which is a lot better than the upgraded halogens.

Some more up to date pictures:

- CEUK LED H7 conversion
- Full EGR and cooler delete
- Black upper grill surround
- Black lower grill surround
- Carbon effect bumper/boot strip
- EZ lip front splitter
- Boltsbolts USDM lighting kit
- Black Audi rings
- Debadged model designation
- Climair wind deflectors
- Yellow tinted fogs

I have a few plans still to come, which include the following:
- Sunstrip
- Tinted windows (B-pillar back)
- Decat
- Remap
- Black roof rails
- Black alloys
- New rear lights to replace current ones (standard)
- New headlights for Joey mod (black internals)
- New steering wheel
- Honeycomb front grills
- Black roof (possibly)

Thanks for looking, I'll try and keep this as up to date as I can!

Good luck with the “joey mod” that is a complete pita to do, have you considered sourcing a used set of S4 headlights.

Yeah I've heard that. It's definitely a consideration, but we'll see.

curious on how good the led lights ate h7 ?
They're very good. I can grab a picture tonight when it gets dark if you're interested? I have these pictures from when I fitted them, but they're not great. Upgraded halogen in the passenger side, LED in drivers side. Headlight alignment has been sorted too for anyone who notices haha

Grabbed a couple of new shots the last few days. Sunstrip now added and stickers have been changed about to keep it a lot more subtle.

Had the car in at Power Developments in Basildon yesterday due to a horrible rattle. Originally I thought it was something CVT related and started panicking, but on closer inspection it seemed to be coming from further forward.

1

Once we got the car up in the air, it was clear that it was coming from the A/C compressor as when the A/C is switched on, the noise disappears.

I've had a look about and discovered that the pulley/clutch within the compressor can be replaced on its own, and this normally fixes the issue, so I'll be picking up a pulley kit and doing that over the next week or so.

I also have a front wheel bearing which needs replacing, but after that I'm ready for the engine and CVT service then mapping.

I'm still not 100% decided on tuner, but I'm swaying towards Tuning Cartel, as they have some very good feedback from fellow B6 owners.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers!

Finally got my Joey mod done on the headlights - not a job I'll be doing again in a hurry!

38224442455 2a84c4f36c k

I've also got the Xtrons Android headunit fitted, which is a cracking bit of kit. No pictures of that at the minute, I'll try and get some a bit later in the week.

Got some 20mm spacers coming for all round, but I may decide to run narrower on the front as they sit more flush with the arch already.

Next up visually is black roof rails and potentially black or dark grey alloys.

Current mod list sits like so:
- Black S-Line badges
- Joey mod headlights
- CEUK LED side light bulbs
- CEUK LED reverse bulbs
- CEUK LED number plate bulbs
- CEUK LED H7 conversion
- Full EGR and cooler delete
- Black upper grill surround
- Black lower grill surround
- Carbon effect bumper/boot strip
- EZ lip front splitter
- Boltsbolts USDM lighting kit
- Black rear Audi rings
- Debadged model designation
- Climair wind deflectors
- Matt black sunstrip
- Xtrons Octa-Core Android headunit

Thanks for looking again!

Couple of updates!

Fitted my Xtrons reverse camera which connects seamlessly to the head unit, switching the camera on and bring the display up on the screen as soon as the car is put into reverse. Works perfectly and a nice addition to the car, as I'd had one on my last 2 cars and really did miss it on this.

I've also got a set of coilovers working their way to me. I won't be going silly with it, probably just very slightly lower at the back, then get the front down to level it out.

I'm also planning on getting my wheels and roof rails painted black in the coming weeks, so the car should be looking a little different in a few weeks time!

How did you get on fitting the rear camera on the Xtron unit? Did you use a cabled connection or did you go WiFi?

Have got one myself and thinking of fitting one, did you go for the number plate light camera? Got any pics or links please Kneller?

Thanks
