Hi,

I have two dpf related fault codes showing up, car is also in limp mode.

P2463 excessive soot build up
P2002 particulate filter bank 1 malfunction

Today I replaced the g450 with an aftermarket febi sensor and cleared faults but no luck, lights are still on and still in limp mode.

Soot mass measured is 8g
Soot mass calculated is 60g (was 48 but been driving in limp mode for a few days)

Just looking for some advice, has anyone had these issues before and does it look like I'll need my dpf removed or replaced?

Thanks for taking time to read and maybe respond.

Forgot to add my car is a 3.0tdi 240 with 88k miles

Cr140 and CR170 suffer from actuator issues if there is no boost then off course lambda will low causing the blockage.
However, if there were no boost related errors then you can decided to gut or replace dpf.

Cheers

I m also interested in this issue. Any force regeneration tips or vcds / odbeleven method?

After a Google search (I'm clueless) cr140 and cr170 are turbos . Would I experience any symptoms with the actuator issues? I didnlt notice any before car going into limp mode. There's also no other faults showing on vag com.

Thanks

I don't think I can force a regeneration as my calculated spot level is showing too high.

Did you do an adaption on the sensor with vcds after you fitted it?

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/2.0L_CR_TDI

Hi I did the second half of the adaptation

UDS Protocol (G450) procedure
Key ON, Engine OFF
[Basic Settings]
Select Adaptation of diff. pressure sensor particulate filter
[Go!] to activate the Basic Setting.
After the result of Finished Correctly appears click [Stop]

Select Resetting of learned values of difference pressure sensor
[Go!] to activate the Basic Setting.
After the result of Finished Correctly appears click [Stop]
[Done, Go Back]

I can't find the part I've underlined - Select Adaptation of diff. pressure sensor particulate filter. I managed to reset the learnt values but under basic settings I can't find the adaotation

Have you tried to do a forced regen? As the main thing that determines when a DPF needs replaced is the ash, not the soot. When soot is burnt during a regen it gets turned into a much smaller mass of ash. I did a regen on my B7 when it had a soot loading well in excess of 100%. Not sure exactly what that equates to in grams though.

Yes I've tried but it aborts for safety reasons. Perhaps the dpf is blocked, was just hoping it would be something else.
