Though I'd add my first post on here after placing an order with my dealer last week. Been reading the forum for while since I got my current A3 last year!
Got my tracking number through from my dealer yesterday and seems to have now jumped to the preparation stage tonight, which I believe means it is now locked? Quite strange as I was told to expect September delivery but tracker yesterday stated build week of 24th April
Anyway for those interested my spec is: S3 Black Edition - 3 Door - Ara Blue - S Tronic with Tech Pack Adv, Mag Ride, Parking System Plus, 5yr Warranty, Red Calipers, Folding Mirrors, Extended Upholstery, SS Seats, Hill Hold and 19" V Spokes.
First ever new car so started to get quite excited now

My car left Ingolstadt 07/03/2017 arrived at Sheerness 29/03/2017.
I am still waiting for it to get to my dealer who is 85 miles from Sheerness.
Audi CS say end of next week at the latest.
I hope yours is quicker than mine.

Yes saw a few pictures of your new car in the other thread and it looks great, I was 50/50 on the black edition or chrome finish but fancied a change from my current car which has chrome. Hopefully I've made the right choice but ara blue is great either way I'm sure

Still don't understand why yours wouldn't have followed mine in terms of status though.
I think it will either suddenly catch up with mine, or for some reason the vehicles got separated and you were allocated to a later train??
Isar Highway is moored in Emden, bit It's destination is Sheerness, so not going to be the one my car goes on!
Weser Highway is due into Emden today, so hopefully that will be bound for Grimsby. Will keep an eye on it.

I contemplated the black edition for the same reason (currently got A3 S Line) but because I'd decided to go for a black car as well, I thought by losing the silver mirrors etc it just took too much away from the car. Plus coupled with privacy glass I thought it would look a bit gangster ha ha
As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I'm really liking the Ara blue, and had I gone for that, I may have gone for the black edition.
The funny thing is, and this is all personal preference obviously, I actually prefer the standard alloy.
You've got a great spec there though, really loaded - sure you'll love it!!

Only thing I can think of which explains your guys long wait would be the City of Oslo has been doing the sheerness runs (plus other ships!) and that ship takes up to 2000 cars, whereas those going to Grimsby and Tyne are 750. So likely a huge number of cars passing through sheerness towards the end of march.

If that's the right build date you've got lucky. Some people on here that have ordered three door S3's are having to wait until much later in the year for build dates.
Can anyone tell me what status comes after 38 and at what point that change occurs?

Yeah sounds like I've been extremely lucky was originally quoted build week 31 at the point of ordering but a few days later I was contacted to say it was showing as week 17 now. Audi tracker is only showing an original order date of the 13/02 though (placed my order 24/03) so guess it's pot luck.
Anyone know if different dealers get different stock allocations, hence the varying build times?
It looks like 39 is on ship and 40 is landed in UK.

Yeah they do. My dealer is Aberdeen, who told me they get the most allocation as they sell the most cars.
I have been told by Audi CS that my car will be at the dealer on Tuesday 11/04/2017.
Perhaps yours will be delivered to dealer this week.
I have seen the flowchart, but just wondered how people knew they were on a ship?
Or do people only know they shipped when they update to "in the UK"?
I only ask, because one member said he was at status 39, which suggests it is possible to know that you are currently on a ship?

It does seem to be the case. My dealer is Marshal Oxford (previously ridgeway group) and I'm getting a quick turn around for a new car based on current dates that I've got. So it seems bigger groups/ bigger sellers seem to be able to get more or 'better' allocations or new builds.
Dealer is only 85 miles from Sheerness so probably wont be on transporter until Tuesday morning.
My sales guy said they are waiting for several cars from Sheerness

You'll need to replace <your order number> with.... you guessed it...
That will give you an xml page, which includes more details of current stage.
It's mentioned somewhere back a few dozen pages. So I can't take any credit for this
