Asda Engine Oil - VW Spec 507.00.

Wow that's cheap.... buy .

It's not approved but a spec is a spec !

I've used it the last 4/5 changes but I only do 1500 miles between and change every 6 months .

It's made by Tetrosyl who also produce the same product for..

Tesco
G Force
ECP Triple QX
Carlube Triple R .

And they make, or did make some black stuff that did tend to make a mess of you during the big summer "beat the rust" campaigns of old! People will need to be quick to get that oil as it has been mentioned on most motoring forums yesterday (evening).

Was lucky to get two on Saturday , a few towns away , strangely my local only sells the 2L for £14 now , lol.

They were not marked up as roll back so £26 , put through self service till and £13 .

It certainly does seem good value, especially if it meets the spec. Two reviews on the ASDA website.

VW Oil (not)
I have had my VW 1.9TDI Passat for 9 years ,always do the oil change myself ,I saw ASDA new VW 504-507 spec oil and thought I would give it a try, After 3000 miles my engine was sounding very noisy rattling like a sewing machine, I checked the oil and to me it seamed like it was very much like water on the dipstick, So 3 days ago I changed the oil, for a well known quality oil which I have used before , my car now sounds like it always has smooth and quiet for a diesel engine , in my opinion this oil is in no way up to spec for VW , I will not use it again , I am a loyal ASDA customer , and will stay one , but this oil , if your a VW owner I would stay well away from .

Have been using ASDA engine oils now for several years and have found it to be of a very high standard, my vehicle has a CATALYTIC CONVERTER and a DIESEL PARTICLE FILTER and HAS to use only approved oil specified by VW, Asda's Fully Synthetic 5W30 Vw oil fits the bill perfectly. CHEAPER than most car shops and alot cheaper than main dealer saving about £30 per 5L container ! yes I did say saving £30 per 5L container
