Hello,
Having recently bought my first Audi (2007 A3 2.0T Quattro) I have a few questions and would be grateful for any assistance
1. It has the Concert Head Unit (NOT bose speakers) and although the sound is OK I'm wondering if it's possible to make it better, whether it be new speakers or head unit?
2. As you will know the car locks when you drive off and to open all doors the fob needs to be pressed twice, I understand the safety issue but is there anyway to change it so it opens all doors on first button press and doesn't lock when setting off?
3. At about 200BHP it goes reasonably well, I see a REVO stage 1 remap takes is up to 250 ish, are these good remaps and does it improve the drive of the car?
4. The steering wheel is slightly off centre, would this be resolved if it's a tracking issue or is it not as simple as that?

Apologies if you've heard all these before and thanks in advance
Si

Welcome to the ASN madhouse....! I think you will find a lot of what you want using the search function. I've found a lot that way throughout the years. To help you on your way....

On 1 then most definitely. Speakers and/or new head units can make a significant improvement. Depends on what you want (to have/ to spend) on which way to go. I've done both as I wanted both better sound and more functionality from a new head unit. It can get quite expensive depending on what you want. I have a SLine non bose A3 2.0Tfsi.

On 3 then you will find via search many of us with a remap who will say things like the following 'it is how it should have come out of the factory' and 'it is the best value car upgrade out there'. Get it done and you wont regret it. I went R-tech and have been very pleased. If I hadn't have gone there, I would have gone with Unicorn motor developments. Custom remapping with a great reputation. Let people know where you live & folks can give you more advice.

2. Yes, a simple re-programme of the central locking will allow 1 press to unlock the doors. Find a local VCDS user to do this for you.
3. Revo are one of the best mappers, although there are some good independent tuning companies around. It depends where you live on which one you choose. Have a look at the 'Site Sponsors' section.
4. Needs the tracking re done and re- centreing of the steering rack. As you have a Quattro you might find a 4 wheel alignment will be best to make sure all 4 wheels are pointing in the right direction.

Thanks for that guys, will definitely get the tracking and the key done.
I once had a saab with crap sound, changed the head unit and also the speakers to focals and it was no different so i'm sceptical on that one

Welcome to ASN

My advice on 3 would be a good well respected custom mapper.
I'd have said differently a couple of years ago but they've continued to work on this engine where others have kind of lost interest.

Rick has an excellent reputation here and would be a good choice in the Midlands

Down south you have Storm and AMDTuning both of which I've used and would recommend.

If you get a head unit with DAB and Bluetooth, even if you don't find the sound better at least you'll have more features.

The built in Concert unit is powered on and off using CANBUS signals, not a switched 12v feed, so you'll need a CANBUS adapter unless you want to try and find a switched 12v feed off somewhere like the fuse box. With the right stereo and CANBUS adapter you can keep the steering wheel controls if you have them.

That's great guys, thanks for all your help. I'm slightly worried about the extra strain the remap will put on the turbo and clutch, but at 47k I'm hoping it'll be ok.
As for the head unit, there's loads around, anyone got any recommendations?

You'll get better recommendations if you state single or double DIN, have you steering wheel controls? Do you want DAB and/or bluetooth? Sat Nav? Apple Car play or Android auto?

Not sure what apple car play and android auto are.
It's the double DIN size and I have the steering wheel controls. DAB would be nice, Bluetooth (for playing music? as opposed to taking calls) and Sat Nav would be a bonus. I've read it can be a bit of a nightmare to change and was wondering if any had bought units they could recommend
