Looks minted! U getting it remapped? The 170bhp is still pretty fast but the quattro does make it a wee bit heavier than the standard.

not true, all quatro run front wheel drive 99% of the time. research haldex to learn more

Thanks! This is unfortunately the 140bhp version, but i've been looking at getting it remapped. The guy I talked to at this tuning-company said I would get 185bhp and 420nm- wich I think is a respectable increase(?)

Well, the haldex (quattro) definately adds more weight to the car- wich makes it slower than a FWD.

I don't think almost 150kg is minimal..

Pull next to a Quattro in the fwd, and then you will realise Quattro does not lose traction, even when you slip the clutch at 3500 rpm, quattro is faster than fwd

I raced my mate whose got a 2.0tdi a4 with a hybrid turbo, pushing over 550lbft of torque,( maybe much more tbh) on paper faster than mine off the line by far, his wheels just span and span

Most folk would get to 170bhp with the 140bhp engine. Might be able to get 420nm but would have to get a uprated clutch/flywheel after a while. Obviously u could get more with mods.

I'ts important for people to know the difference between Haldex 4 & the older versions. They are pretty much uncomparable. Search up Haldex 4, and you'll get what I mean.

I thought the 140 & 170 was the same engine, but differences in the injectors? With the BSR PPC-tuning the 140 & 170 get the same amount of tourqe and horsepower on stage 1.

lol :chuncky:
I'm not embarassed of driving a TDI. De badging is a thing I do to all my cars. If I can get a sporty car with 4x4 that does over 50 mpg on the highway, then i'm a happy fella :)

They are the same engines but it isn't just the turbo & injectors that are different, there was a thread a while ago where someone made a list of all the differences between the two & there was a lot, I was really shocked. I'll try to find the thread.

Nice motor! I am looking forward to seeing your plans. Here is mine, pretty much the same but 170. It's my second A3. This first I had for 4 years and I'm 8 months in to this ownership. I spend 6 months in between the 2 cars deciding what else to get and there wasn't another car in it's class thats 4 wheel drive and build quality in my opinion.

Enjoy it

Thanks for your post Spencer! Awesome photos of your car! We pretty much have the same car. Those rims are cool! Are they 17"?
Have you done any mods or added anything for your car?
The A3 must be one of the best quality cars with 4wd in that price range.

Took some photos the other day in the beautiful sunset here in North of Norway :)
Here's one of them!

love the rotors, hate diesel, nice car otherwise

Above my face-lift 2009 S-line quattro 2.0 TFSI - very happy with this choice after a previous Tiguan and Mk5 GTI.
I think of it as a 4wd GTI or a poor man's Golf R.
It's got all the power I need as a daily drive, great all-season traction and handling, great build, is economical if driven quietly but is ****** quick without the wife beside me.
