Wrong spec advice

That's absolute madness in the 21st century!

They be better off using the configurator at the dealership then just sending the code generated to the factory.

If only it where that easy. The Audi configurator is a flashy piece of software for customer use but it does not talk to the VAG/Audi order system so orders need to be manually entered even if you have a configurator code. The order system is archaic and not very intuitive or user friendly hence the relatively large number of order errors we continually see on here...I actually feel sorry for the dealers as it's the VAG system they use that is the root cause

I wouldn't mind being a salesman really most Audi showrooms are like a sweet shop to me lol ! but as the front customer facing side of the Audi business then you'd have to be prepared to get it in the neck when something goes wrong. For most people the cars the second most expensive purchase you're ever likely to make and the three month wait or so just builds up the tension - what's most important is that both sides see it for what it is and remain dignified whilst it gets sorted out.

If someone came in guns ablazing then I'd probably send them to the VW dealership next door that's where you need the people skills.

Accept the car and a discount and be rest assured your seats will never look like this .

If ever there is a reason to go with leather!

In all honestly, only you will know if you are happy to live with leather over your initial choice.

Ask lead time on the correction and weigh up your options from there. It might be just as worthwhile waiting and getting a 16 plate as the incentive?

Appreciate all the comments - Dealer really apologetic about the mix up and straight away wanted to resolve the issue to my satisfaction.

They have made a decent offer for me to accept this car, so I can now look forward to collecting my S3 on Saturday - leather and all!

I can now just concentrate on enjoying my new car :nogarors4:

The sweetener for me would be to chuck in a couple of services. They tend to like that option as they make a killing off it anyway.

Yeah Swainy but it's not the end of the world, leather is the better more attractive option in my honest opinion, and by all means extract a wee side deal of some sort.
Aye I do kinda agree Jassyo I like leather (kids in the back don't) and tbh if my original order did turn up in Lunar leather I would have taken it as well, but Alcantara suits me better....long story

Hello,

Been following the forum for a while, and was awaiting my delivery to post. Seems to be lots of friendly folk here!

As you may have guessed the order is for a Sepang S3 Sportback, S-tronic, chrome roof rails, comfort package, front and rear sensors, adaptive cruise control, hill hold, reversing camera, advanced key, tinted windows, heated dimming folding mirrors and black alcantara seats.

The car arrived at dealership today – I got sent a nice video of it, it was them I noticed the seats are the standard leather not the alcantara.

Dealer accept the mix up, they have offered to order a replacement with another long wait, or take the car as is!

Is there a massive difference, should I take the car with leather, what would anyone suggest?

Sorry for the long post, I really don’t know what to do!

I'm still getting over the fact that they sent you a video of it on arrival!
I signed a contract on the provisor that my car would be delivered within three months. That was signed on the 12th October 2015. I'm still waiting with no indication of when delivery will be.

It sounds like you have a genuine dealer looking out for your interests.
Mistakes can happen, but lack of communication, not returning emails or txts is done by choice.

Here is hoping you get great weather on the weekend.

Good luck.

I,m feeling her pain...lol (or is it a he??)

No offence to our oriental cousins but I haven't got a bleedin clue mate!! lol
