Happy new year guys,

I had my AUQ lump re-mapped a couple of weeks back and all was not well after!

firstly it managed to finish off one of my coilpacks, I replaced all 4 with the original red ones from psi tuning,

after I fitted these and cleared the faults, then noticed its boosting funny, if I plant the throttle in 3rd gear it feels like it pulls on and off every 500rpm or so and it very jerky on let go of the throttle, I've heard the n75 valve could be at fault, so ive ordered a new one which is an updated part I believe

06A906283E the part number that is currently on it at the moment

058 906 283F the new superseded part number (which I have ordered)

any further info would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks in advance

remapped by whom ? What figures did she put out? Boost plots? Logs?

it wasn't remapped on the RR, it was by a company called custom tuning uk based in Bradford, supposedly quite reputable, does a lot of high end Audi's S6/8//RS4/5/6's models

haven't done any boost logs

Did they not smoke test, log or even scan for faults?? Reputable or not.. That's the FIRST thing! Even though my car has been to bill before, doesn't stop him from refusing to map it again because it may be in poor condition! That's making sure the car is in good health before its mapped!

First I'd check for leaks.. If you can get a smoke test done then that's better.. There may be more codes so don't just clear them.. It'll come back up.. Check your DV for leaks etc..

they scanned for faults before hand and was clean, I'll have to have a look at performing a smoke test, anywhere in west Yorkshire do them?

scan fault codes is only part of it....
these are old cars and 90% of the time have hidden leaks... smoke test for me essential #1 job before anything else.. then fault code checking, then before dyno with logging, and only then... IF everything looks "ok" will it be mapped.

I am surprised garages dont have smoke test equipment.. It must be one of the most used bits of equipment I have.

guys just a quick update, I've just disconnected the n75 valve and went for a spin, results were: silky smooth with hardly any boost (obviously) but will this point more fingers at this valve?

nope, not necessarily . ?It could be down to how the boost request is dealt with in the map, too much too soon makes possible surging and for bad delivery.

If you could log the boost or had a boost gauge you could see what was going on. Possibly an N75 issue maybe boost leaks or a diverter valve issue. Remaps can quite often highlight issues that were not causing a problem before.
Does the car have a standard dump valve?.

Right ok, I could have provided a bit more info!!

I have a Turbo smart valve fitted like the forge splitter screwed about 3/4 of the way down, also I do have a boost gauge, before the map I was getting about .7/.8 bar and now getting 1.5 bar, when I get the new N75 on and its still the same I will ask him to take another look at the map and or tone it down a bit, they seem to be quite well set up and seem to talk sense as they are after sensible power gains not going for every last ounce the car can give.

it doesn't seem or act like any leaks but thinking on I did have the slight jerking feeling when cold letting off the throttle before the map but it just seems to have exposed it a bit more

also just been fully serviced about 800miles ago with oil, oil/air filter, bosch iridium sparks, fitted

thanks for help and advice so far chaps

You have twice as much boost now as you had before, the extra turbo smart valve is probably what is causing your issues if this is not set correctly or the map is set up for a standard engine configuration.

Just pop in a standard DV Nd see if it cures the problem.

This is exactly the same ossues om havomg with my car after a remap all the same problems now ive gone through most things done smoke test all ok only thing ive not done is the n75 now desertstorm what the smart valve you are relating to?

Drewvic, where did you get the smoke test done?, also I've ordered the n75 off eBay for £41 and original superseded part with the part number shown above,

hi dan I did the smoke test myself with a mechanic friend of mine the kits are really easy to get hold of or make yourself, was the n75 that you ordered and genuine part and was it brand new???

as for other peoples replys, as im having the exact same issue as dan, I have done smoke test I have put a brand new oe dv on about 2 weeks ago I have also done the same as dan and I had full service around 1000 miles ago, so really is this now going to be the n75 I have also done the same as dan and I unplugged the n75 and she ran smooth but obviously no boost, the problem is really starting to annoy me lol

yes mate its a genuine original its just been dispatched on ebay so will hopefully get it tomora or early next week, I will post the link, the part has been superseded twice, im on the 'F' type valve now and the new one coming is an 'E', with the above part number,

I replaced the OE dump valve due to it not working correctly and ran tonnes better with this new one on, also I have completed the N249 bypass which was better still, will let you know when I get the valve and fit it,

how do you know what type of valve you are on I don't understand the f type thing??? yeah link to it would be great mate

right mate type this number into the Ebay search bar:
181283642031

its from Swindon motor park, but a new genuine, check the part numbers on your n75 its should be the old number,

for the sake of £41 its worth a try

It's a pain, every time i want smoke test (every time my car does something strange) i have to drive to launceston to see phil miller to get it done, thankfully if there isn't much traffic it is quite a nice drive and phil has always managed to sort me out. haven't actually found anyone in plymouth that even knows what a smoke test is even after calling a few "vag specialists" (Alan Jeffrey might do smoke tests but after they failed to diagnose a faulty coil on my dads car i refuse to go there)

And good to hear the N75 sorted your problems!
