Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has heard of the mount for a haldex breaking. It has happened on mine and the part is supposidly on back order. Does anyone know of anyone that would have these in stock? I was thinking about removing it and repairing it with the tig welder. To add to the pain in the **** with it moving about it has damaged the seal for the drive shaft to the drivers wheel which'll need replaced too.

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance

I believe I had the exact same problem, including the damaged seals. Manifested itself by a knocking noise coming from the rear of the car when easing off the throttle at low speeds

yes mate thats the one. I'm getting a knocking noise too. Absolute pain in the ****. It's a new one to me. THe cheeky beggers at Aberdeen Audi are charging Over £600 to fix it and £400 odd is labour. Not happy. Did audi sort yours?

Yes all done under warranty, there is a thread on here about it somewhere. They were really good about it. I thought originally that it was engine mounts, then audi said they couldn't find a problem and asked for more info. I explained the symptoms and they correctly diagnosed as a problem with the rear diff. It took a couple of weeks to get the parts in but it was all sorted in the end and the car is much better now and I wish I hadn't doubted myself and had taken it in when I first thought something wasnt right.

Gents - I'm guessing that the knocking noise you both had is quite pronounced & a loud noise, as it's transmission related.

I've got a noise from the rear of mine under similar low speed conditions. It's being serviced very soon, but it's got me thinking...

Cheers...

Yes, particularly with the windows down. It also feels like there is a lot of play in the transmission, eg pronounced lurching/jolting motion when applying or removing the throttle. This is almost sounding like a design fault!

Thanks for that fella - sounds bad! Mine's a much more minor noise, so is obviously something else. Let's not lynch the Audi design team yet!

I noticed the knocking when going over bumbs etc..... so I did the natural thing and replaced the arb links. while it was jacked up I noticed a little bit of oil on the cross member and saw the seal was gone. Once i got the lamp on I noticed the circular bit that fits to the haldex has came away at one side.

Do you know the part number of the part you require?

I'm waiting for the garage to tell me. I have requested it several times. I'll let you know soon.

Im having this same problem, does anyone have the part numbers handy please?

Is this part of the diff? 5 months ago, Audi noticed a slight leak off the wheel shafts seals and replaced those only for the diff to start whining like crazy so I got a whole new diff installed under warranty.

I think I may be suffering from the same issue. Every now and again I get this thud and I instantly think it is something in the boot moving but unwillingly wanting to admit that its diff related lol

Has anyone managed to get any part numbers for this mount yet please? (Anyone got ETKA/ELSA) Also off topic has anyone got a part number for the strut top bearings?, not the rubber as i have changed those, along with ball joints, drop links etc. Still getting a knock :(

Any joy with this guys? Also did you guys get a front suspension type knock aswell? This could cure two of my problems (fingers crossed)
