was talking over car stuff with a guy from work and we got to the fact cone induction kits are flawed unless you get a good amount of cold air to the area.this got me thinking is there away of mabie diverting a hose from the aircon stright to the air intake it wouldnt need to go through the filter and could be joint stright on meaning air temps of 18 degs stright in.any thoughs people

It could never supply the amount of air needed by the engine. Better off to just get some 4" ducting from the front bumper to the cone, and then put some sort of heat shield around the cone.

1.8 litres, turning over at 6krpm, with a turbo blowing manifold pressure to a BAR above ambient

youre aircon wont have a hope. just think about the level of air itll have to deliver.

just get rid of your cone and sort out your air intake

I Found a Cold air induction Kit that would fit behind the passenger Fog light, getting cooler air from the grill. I think it was about 80 quid on eBay.. I just went for a Green Cotton Panel and smoothed out the air box. sweet as

i think he means in addition to an induction (and cold air feed) with like a side feed from the ac to add even more air but a hell of a lot colder

it would be like trying to stop a raging bull with a pea shooter. think about the volumes involved

as useful as the keys to a vauxhall or the throttle on a toyota

bored today

weve only got a week to go?!!

on CGTI a bunch of us are heading to a show at an airfield that has a drag strip

then we are racing our girlfriends :p banta is getting pretty good. mine apparently knows COMBAT ORIGAMI

just need to teach her how to launch the golf

i think ive finished the development on our 20vt. if i get really bored till make an economy "map" for it to keep it cheap on long distance work

ok, maybe im bored and extremely tired

drag strip, girlfriends in cars, they race and we see who has the fasted girlfriend

seems like a well logical thing to do, but maybe its just an essex thing haha

I'm not up for this, all my bird does is crash cars. She's not going anywhere near mine.... EVER.

train her. once they know COMBAT ORIGAMI theyll be able to drive proper

not sure. pic is blocked or something

rach was insured on my S4. she loved it. maybe im too generous lol

Honestly dude, she is sooooo bad. She wrote her first car off putting it through a wall at about 45 mph. Then buys a Clio 100 BHP Diesel. Nice little motor to be fair. Has that for 2 weeks (after not having a car for a week), and then puts that on it's side.

She now has a 206 1.9 flat diesel, the slowest car on earth.

Not a born driver, lets put it that way, bless her.

The best is when the misses reveresed into the wall at the bottom of the drive, then blamed me because i had parked down the bottom of the drive and not her, window licker comes to mind every day.

:lmfao:

Hmmm, I love it when it's your fault for something that just simply isn't. I get that all the time.

It was my fault her car ran out of diesel the other day for not reminding her to fill it up..... :wtf:

seriously, just accept its your fault and move on with your life.

mine tho is a bit of a demon a the wheel, nuff respect for raw driving talent

Wish mine had some. I let her ride the quad last night and she stalled it 6 times trying to reverse out of the drive.

Going back to the subject at start you could but a charge cooler inline with the intercooler but finding space for it is a nightmare in an s3

that sounds like a complete joke

@ OP. have you actually monitored your intake temps?

this is what i ment

wouldnt you probably be sapping more power than you'd be making? just turning the aircon on reduces your power doesnt it?

i think its something like 15% power reduction with ac. dunno why maybe one of the tech bods can explain
