When mine was potentially arriving in Feb this year the dealership told me they’d keep it for upto 3 weeks so I could have the new reg. As it got delayed anyway i didn’t have to worry and got it end of April

I wouldn't demand simply ask and if you have a good relationship with the dealer this is no issue as I've done the same ;-)
I believe from enquiries I made that it’s locked in when you get approval which would be when you place your order.
I also agreed a deposit amount but if I don’t have the full amount at the time and have to adjust, I assume I won’t get the original rate if I make an amendment?
Just spoke to my dealer and they said my car is being built next month which means end of sept/early oct for collection. Does that sound right? When people have had big delays, is it that the car being built just gets pushed forward? Should I be skeptical?
Dealer haven’t told you a build week or anything? Mine had a build week after a few weeks, is what they tell me not actuate then and they are just being generic?
Let’s hope you’re is accurate mate. I did tell them I wanted it no sooner than September so I know it’ll be after this. I had a golf gtd on order and specd it well. 2 yrs on still no date so I cancelled it and ordered the Audi. 4 weeks after ordering I had a phone from vw asking if I wanted the golf as it’s built. I laughed and said no.
Ah I did tell them I didn’t want it before sept as I want to save the deposit but they said to just order it otherwise the factory might not rush etc and it could take ages. I’m only skeptical as everyone on this forum says their build gets delayed etc or been waiting a year for their car so when I get told it’s being built so soon I wonder why so many others have issues?
Same as Paulie69 got email saying we’ve checked it over now it’s over to you. Ordered end of May also . A3 saloon 35tfsi in navarra blue black edition with tech pack. So probably 4-6 weeks now.
Ordered an A3 45 TFSIe S Line Competition through my employer on 14th March, confirmed as ordered with Audi dealership on 17th March.
Was quoted 30th November for delivery, have now been told it's pushed back to January '24.

i'd love to know what's going on with mine ordered a A3 black edition with tech pack 2nd week of May & not even been told a build date yet!
no it's a 35, i've been told it's going to be a new year car with the new reg & that's all i know via the centre i ordered from, i only ever got a preparation email nothing since
Mine was arranged to be built week 28 which was around 12th July and just got email saying it was built and just getting final checks so looks like around 2 weeks . I thought it would have been done in a day lol.
Sorry bud that blows that idea out of the water. Noticed s3 and hybrid takes a lot longer
I’ve ordered the tdi black edition tech pack pro. I’m surprised how soon it’s arriving as I’d waited 2 years for a mk8 golf gtd and cancelled it. My Audi will still be here before the golf arrives still
That’s great, I don’t mind waiting , I drove past our local Vauxhall garage which are advertising immediate delivery but would never get another one of them. Lol

I ordered end of May 35 Black Edition Tech Pack Pro - Saloon. No emails from Audi UK, however, dealer checked system and states build week end of Aug however not confirmed. The build week was second week in July and then moved. Those who have been getting emails have they been from Audi UK?
i'm in the same boat as you, been told it's going to be built within the next 4 weeks but no confirmed date as of yet - but only ever got 1 email from audi UK to say it was at the preparation stage
thanks mate. I have not even had any emails from Audi uk. The current A3 I am in which I order in 21 I received email updates from Audi UK.
I have had no emails from dealer or Audi but had the email today

I ordered a golf gtd in October 21 and Audi are a million times more informative than vw. I cancelled the order after the sales man said go to Audi then if you’re not happy with waiting 2 years. So I did
It really depends on your options and your luck. I ordered mine end of March. I initially got a delivery estimate for early October. Then that was pushed up to early September. Then they told me it's getting built even faster, apparently end of June for a mid-July delivery. From then it all went downhill. I initially got a confirmation that the VIN was available, but apparently the car build had not been completed yet. I kept getting news that it was to be delayed to include a critical component for a week, then for another one, until finally I was told it was not going to be until the end of August that the production could continue. This means that now I'll be lucky to meet my original early October delivery deadline. It's not cool playing havoc with customers' expectations.

It was a white mk8 gtd. sunroof hk reverse camera leather dcc. Johnson’s stoke should have the car sometime in august.19 inch wheel upgrade aswel
That's kind of worrying. I ordered a 40 TFSIe in March as well. Also through a lease company through work (Leaseplan). Also had an estimated delivery date of 30th November.
They've not told me it's been pushed back yet. Did they give you a reason?
Leaseplan is the same company for me that my employer uses. Does the company you work for begin with B?
They haven't 'officially' told me... I email the Account Exec at Audi every month or so to query if there's any updates (as the only ones I get from LeasePlan is an automated one about every month with a 'your order is still on track' and on my last email to them, they said they were just in the process of updating the lead times to LeasePlan and as there was still no build week allocated at the factory they 'may' have to push the lead time out to Jan '24.
Seems to be when it’s not direct from Audi dealer it takes longer? The last email I got was the preparation one sent on 10th July. Ordered the car mid June. Is that a good sign for timescales or is that email always sent a few weeks after ordering?
