Ive been looking into getting the stereo head unit replaced, ive currently been looking at a Sony XAV-AX1000 6.2” - from Halfords
Ill put the link below
I would like to know if this is a decent head unit to put in my car ( 2009 A3 1.4T )
And if this if fairly easy to do yourself or should i get them to fit it, i ask this because if i were to fit myself, i would need to buy extras, being fascia, audio harness etc,
Where as if i get halfords to fit they supply this if ive been informed correctly

Its a bit basic tbh, you ever considered an android unit?

What would be your recommendations, as ive only ever changed a unit to a removable jvc one never gone for a touchscreen one, when i ask for recommendations from others they dont really know what to suggest other than kenwood or pioneer

Can use car play on android units with the right setup.

I've fitted varied tbh, xtrons is one, but 64gig storage 4 gig ram version is better.

Xtrons seems to be one of the famous options there is on Android units. They also sell a USB adapter that supports CarPlay and android auto. Usually they sell the unit with all the harness you need for your car and is has the OEM look which is nice.
4GB 64GB is a must.

Any other brands you would recommend, would prefer one with a usb slot
