I had a kit fitted by HazzyDayz when I was up near Luton. If you need any aftermarket work done highly recommend with great service and I was offered countless cups of tea/coffee.
I bought the kit off
eBay and they offered to fit it for £175 whilst doing a reverse camera and parking sensors, I could have probably done it as instructions came with it but thought might as well get it all done at the same time so I don't damage anything myself. The kit was fitted and they checked it launched and I said I'd play around with it when I got home. However after getting home and trying it properly I realised there was no audio. Spotify was playing but no audio at all.
The instructions advised putting phone in debug mode to connect the bluetooth, no such luck. I tried using the aux cable connected to the back of the unit plugged in alongside the USB connection but still nothing.
Yesterday I purchased this device off
Amazon as I already had the Audi Music Interface connection and thought it was worth a try. It arrived today with Amazon and I plugged it in, selected the source as Aux and held down the Media button which opens up the Car Play system and the music came flowing through the speakers. No loss in sound quality at all. Only difference between this and the Audi Bluetooth is it does not display the song on the instrument panel and I can't change songs using the volume knob on the centre console but it's easy enough to control or say "Ok Google, Next Song".
If you want Android Auto/Apple Car Play and you've got a Standard MIB Unit with Sat Nav like I do on my 2015 A3 Saloon then I'd highly recommend this as an alternative. I initially had an issue getting contacts to sync for calls but after turning the car off and on again this has now Sync'd.
