I've got a few marks on the back of my seat so wondered what the best way to remove these was before I give it a go. They're supersport seats so I didn't want to just dive and in make it worse! I've tried my thumbnail but that doesn't seem to work!

If it's water based paint, warm water and a cloth should remove it.

Thanks, just tried some warm soapy water but it's not budging. Given the colours I don't think it's gloss paint, I get the feeling it was something resting against the back of the seat that's moved and scraped some colour off.

To me they look like scuff marks from cardboard boxes you've had on the back seats. They have left a deposit ontop of the surface and not rubbed through into it.
Glass cleaner or wet wipes are also worth a try. We use them on our leather sofa and they are fairly gentle. Some of then have lanolin in them which feeds the surface.
I have also used WD40 in the past when dealing with white scuff marks in and not on the surface of the plastic in the boot. This works well but leaves an initial sheen on the surface that does matt off after a short while.

@eribaMotters @RichardT Thanks, will give wet wipes and white spirit a go.

@tigerhonaker your response, which is essentially "ask a professional" could be applied to pretty much any query on this entire forum. Surely the whole point of the forum is for members to help each other out and avoid having to contact professionals for what could be relatively easy fixes if others have had similar experiences to minor (or major) faults and issues.

Strangely, I had very similar marks on my seat and have no idea where they came from. I just used soap and water and it came off. Took a bit of time though.

Will,

My personal take is since the RS3 cost in the USA something like $65,000.00 US dollars with option packages.
It's best to take the RS3 to the Professional Detail Shops and or Detailers than to Screw-Up the Seats from trying methods that might make things even worse.
You ask for opinions and did not specify you didn't want everyone's honest opinion like I posted.

Good-Luck,
Terry

Try a Magic Eraser - get them in the supermarkets. Dampen with water and give it a light rub. Obviously test on small area first. Never used them on car seats, but have used on leather sofa and plastic items before.

Will,

I had some extra time to do some further research for you.
I think I might have just maybe found a (Working-Product) that you can use.

Removing Paint-Makeup-Nail Polish From Car Leather Quickly!

Thanks all for the suggestions and especially to @tigerhonaker who's gone beyond the call of duty! I'll certainly look into these.

The car isn't an RS3 (unfortunately), and not even an S3. It's an S-Line which the original owner specced up heavily. I'd never seen an S-line with supersport seats before- queried it with the garage before I went down to view it as I thought they were only available on the S3 and so thought someone had removed the original seats , but turns out they were a £1500 option on S-lines ('only' £700ish on the S3).
