Hi

Just found this youtube made by Powerdrift showing the A4 avant facelift exterior in turbo blue. The video is 4 days old so might been seen already and there are some talking as well.

Some pictures here as well

Air intakes either side of the grille have a "U" design. Back bumper has integrated exhaust outlets as opposed to the B9's pipes
I think the front grille is slightly different. Interior unchanged.
I think they missed an opportunity here.

It's odd when you consider that there was talk earlier in the year of a major refresh for the A4, to address the weaker than expected sales. And I'm not sure I've ever seen a 'facelift' that didn't make any changes to the interior?

It makes me wonder if they have decided to do this very minor refresh for MY2019 and then a shorter than usual lifespan for the B9? Given the apparently (relatively) poor sales of the B9, the WLTP debacle and subsequent supply issues, and perhaps the imminent release of the BMW 3 series, maybe they decided to save this "major refresh" for a B10 to be released sooner than expected?

NB this is very much just speculation!

I posted a while back a link to an internal publication that suggested something along the lines that this was a mild refresh and that a major update would be coming next near. It's somewhere here in Audi-Sport..

I have read simular statements however there have been questions about the date. The update should see some of the A6 styling and technology be introduced in the A4.
Personally I actually prefer the current interior style over that of the new A6. Not that the A6 isn't nice to look at it just that everything is touch. For me touchscreen is fine for mobile telephone, not so much for my car.

I share your view - the new A6/A7 etc interior looks lovely but only if you wipe it with a microfiber cloth every time you get in. Dust and fingerprints everywhere. Merc and BMW are introducing touch but keeping a scroll wheel/touch pad as well and this is a much better idea.
I know many dont like the stick on screen look of the A4/A5 but I too prefer their dashboards.

Whether you like it or not touch screen will happen and think there is a gulf between the ones we see that are either show or test mules used by hundreds against one used by a single driver.
Finger prints I feel are a less of a concern anyway. It is a technology that appears to be getting around legislation around using a mobile phone within the confines of a vehicle and sooner or later I hope that manufacturers will be forced to have them disabled whilst on the move...

No problem with it happening I will just move to brand that gives both options. Fake exhausts and full touch are spreading amongst their range so another Audi is unlikely for me.

Agree, there is no escaping the touchscreen but one has to wonder how it acually sneaked it's way into our cars since most seems to agree that it brings a level of distraction for the driver. Must youtube reviews ( those I have seen ) on the new A6 mentions this as well.

I guess for audi they tried to minimised the impact by having two screens, avoiding some of the needed screen navigation when operating different car settings. And they do have their virtualcockpit that can be operated by buttons on the steering wheel.

One just have to see what the future will bring

I love the touch screens in the new A6, seriously considering cancelling my A4 Avant order, in favour of an A6 Avant now.

Love the turbo blue and RS6 Plus style wheels. Are we getting those options in the UK?

The exhaust is the biggest let down. Fake exhaust moulded into the bumper. Love the rims on that Avant in the video.

Agreed, looks more like a seat offering than a premium car. But then you can't see them from behind the steering wheel.
Unfortunately the A6 is also too big and expensive for us.
I have heard though that the A5 is also getting the interior touchscreen treatment along side the A4...

I've read that the touch screen tech is delivered with normal language voice commands - i.e. something like "I'm cold" gets the heating turned up, hopefully it's better than Amazon's Alexa or it's more likely the Audi would drop all the windows and open the sunroof. Sometimes with tech - just because you can do something whizzy doesn't necessarily mean you should do it - touch screen interiors and voice control being a very good example.

I love the way they call the front ACC Radars Fog Lights, shouldn't these guys know what they are talking about :dizzy::confounded:

The voice recognition in the A6 C8 is really good and reliably decyphers my accent. You can say "I'm too hot" and it will then ask what temperature do you want setting. Text message dictation is really good too.

Good to hear DaveW. I'm going to avoid the touch screen thing for as long as possible - I have had Eczema all my life so applying creams to my skin results in inevitable transfer to shiny surfaces - I'm not good for touch screen UIs!
