Long delays for new orders due to WLTP emissions testing

I have no build date and my leasing company don’t have any info and the Audi dealership don’t have any info. So I cannot understand how all you guys have build dates or is somebody just telling you porkies to keep your order?

Exactly what I am going through! I kept asking for an order number however my lease company apparently can't get that for me.

Some engine/transmission combinations are getting build dates before others. 150ps TFSI engines with 6 speed are last in line (typical).
The your Audi portal has the build date if one has been issued (in my case, no build date).

I ordered 1.4 petrol, s tronic, black edition. Online tracker says, ordered 3 rd May and then......nothing. I believe they build in batches, so who knows.

When I picked up my S4 in August, my dealer said: you are lucky, we can’t order any new S/RS model in this year, who knows what the future brings, maybe Q2/2019 ;)

I've usually had to wait 3-4 months from order to delivery for my last 3 new Audis. Not really noticed how long it's taken for me to get a build week though.
Dave
I should get a build date for the V60 on Wednesday. I assume factory processes order, allocates the next available build slot (4-8 weeks say) then 4-6 weeks for delivery.

Sounds good @Moocher wonder if there's a Volvo forum as good as this place!

Doesn’t seem to be. This is an absolute wealth of knowledge for Audis. Shame every manufacturer doesn’t have the same community.

Just had a very apologetic email from Halesowen Audi confirming cancellation.

What a shame, but don’t blame you mate. Hopefully Volvo comes before end of year

Offset by that the engines always seem to be better than, say, ford's efforts. Take the new 1.0l focus for example, compared to the golf, also with a three cylinder 1.0l engine, the golf is 1.5 seconds faster than the focus in the 50-70mph drag.
Even before the new tests it was stated the 1.5 in the a3 wasn't as quite as good as the outgoing 1.4. But I doubt if new buyers will worry that much as they won't get to drive both versions back to back...

Hi, anyone know where I can track my car and find out what stage is it on?!

Hi Raees. You will need to register with the audi uk site and have your order number available.

Has anybody logged in to the tracker system recently? All I am getting is Welcome on the time line and everything else is dulled, so it looks like they haven't even received my order! Although at the top of the page order date is 3rd May and the picture of the car has been replaced with the Audi rings and the order below seems correct.

Exact same thing for me, trying to figure out but no luck!

Showing as unavailable again for me today... hopefully when it comes back it shows me my BW...:confused new: maybe then see if the dealers and leasing company story aligns..? :blahblah1:

Before it was also the same as above. Did say "order received at the factory" I am sure and a welcome tab...

What annoys me is that Audi know that there are 100s of cars on order and have not come out to give us ANY info at all. Even just to say we will hopefully have an update by eg 31st October and be able to give you an indication of build dates. At the moment it is anything from 3 months to 6 months to maybe even longer. I am sure Audi read these forums as any well run company wants to know what their customers are saying.

Can't agree more, I think the lack of information from Audi is even worse than the ridiculously long wait we are enduring.
Audi don't give a **** about it's customers, it's as simple as that...

Audi are not the only ones though, with Ford you cannot track the build of your car at all. When our Fiesta was delayed by eight months due to leather quality issues we were getting sparse information from the dealership, as they were getting none either. At one stage it was being suggested it could be over a year. We almost cancelled..

That's a crazy situation. Surprised you saw it through, many would have walked.

Just had an update a few minutes ago from my lease company.

My 1.4 (now 2.0) tfsi s-tronic a4 black edition has been given build week 50 with probable delivery of January.

Happy to just have some info to be honest! :)

New 3 series has upped its game especially the interior.

Might be worth another look if Audi keep dragging their heels further into 2019

Maybe, the series 3 is a completely new car, unlike the A4's facelift though so it should be, on paper at least, ahead of the Audi. I have seen pictures of the interior and not liking it already, but we'll see if the quality of it manages to approach that of the A4...

I have to admit that I don't really think the BMW interior is particularly great. I think that the A4 still does it better but I'm sure it's a matter of preference - and I'd have to see one in person to make a more informed decision. :)

Hi Azonicds2, Is the 150PS petrol definitely a 2.0 engine now? Was this also confirmed by the lease company?

I was about to pull the trigger on an A4 S-Line S-Tronic before I realised that the trim levels were changing.

Can anybody else confirm what tyres are coming on the new S-Line trim? I know they are 19" rims but the tyre sizes seem to flit between 245-40's and 245-35's.

Many thanks

Seems like you have ordered the same car as me. When did you order? I have ordered Ibis White with Black gloss wheels. If you ordered after 3rd May..... I will scream....lol

Agreed, waiting to see some tests. I also despise the rear door shape they, and many seem to have. It's that piece of metal to square off the windows I don't like then the roundedness behind it, if there is such as word. They seem to make it more coupe looking than some though..

Hi mate, yeah lease company said it would be a 2.0L now. Engine section on the audi tracking has also disappeared and guess it's due to change once they have released all the new figures etc.

Not sure on the tyres sorry.

I ordered at the end of May, definitly after the 3rd. However i should say, my audi tracking hasnt updated with the Build week yet, i'm only going on what the lease company said they just received from Audi, so guess they got to know first. Dont expect the audi tracking to update immediately. My contact at the lease company passed on the info to me about the build 5 minutes after hearing from Audi, so perhaps just very on the ball :)

Cheers, I am slightly relieved its a 2.0 now after reading a couple of reviews of the 1.5 that Audi are putting in the new Q3. Seems it doesn't mate too well with the S-tronic box. Just need to find out about the tyres before I go ahead.

Thanks again

There could be a vast difference between the two though as the q3 has a tranverse installation where as in the A4 it would be longitude. Could even use different gearboxes. Thus the A4 is a mlb evo platform whereas the Q3 is mqb.
Reviews I have read of the 1.5 stronic in the A3 have generally been good..

Looks good, like the interior too. not that it's the bee all and end all :whistle2:
Think I'd change the Fog light area though. Probably a little more of a surround needed.

Your Audi A4 / B9 - AU49x/0EU is expected to begin construction on 29th October 2018.

Hi All, my Audi tracker was not available earlier this week and has now come back on line with the BW showing.

Showing a BW 44 as advised by the dealer and leasing company previously so fair play to them on giving me the right date. (Albeit it was an estimate)

It has also moved from the "welcome tab" to "order received" ... so all going well I should see the car hopefully near the end of November as a week 48 delivery was estimated by the dealer.:thumbs up:
Just a wee bit happier now to see this situation getting closer to the end.....

Spoken to Audi this morning still no build date or update of any sort.
Don't mind the 3 series but their version of virtual cockpit looks cheap - very Honda Civic and I can't unsee the uneven door handles. Has proper exhausts though.

I'm totally in agreement with you on that one. Funny the little details that can make to difference in some eyes. When I got the A4 I cross shopped against a Superb and the 2 part back door window just looked low rent compared to the rest of the car. There were other things but that was one particular bugbear, although coming from frameless doors probably influenced that.
