What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

hi folks fitted the led number plate lamps that arived yestersday. and it seams that the last owner of this old girl did not take much pride in cleaning there car. went check the pressure in the spare, and found this mess. and as a bonus found the missing warning triangle. seams the mounting plate clips had broke. and likelly enough i had a spare on kicking around

Making good progress on the old bus this week, 1st job was to start the strip down and check the camchain and tensioner situation , decided to check it first before ripping all out , all seemed to be just fine and all working correctly so didn't mess around with it at this stage.

Replaced the valve cover seal that was so hard it just broke in to pieces, probably why the bolts were only hand tight and oil seeping out and gave the valve cover a good old clean out and it was full or crud.
Fitted some R8 coil packs and iridium plugs aswell.
deleted the oem PCV and replaced with the draft 42 setup and the first of the two catch tanks.
Fitted a temporary heat sheild whilst I come up with an permanent alternative solution, whacked on the filter aswell and then fitted the improved top cover....
So on tommorows hit list is the second catch tank for turbo side of the pcv and then fitte the K&N drycharger , fit the DV relocate aswell.
de-coke is on hold until next month now when I do the cambelt, intercoolers and waterpump.

some pics , but nothing special....

Well today did not go to plan quite frankly, total ockup to be frank.
Went down to local dealer to collect my new rain deflector scuttle panel for base of windscreen, went to fit it , a non starter as they had ordered and supplied me a deflector for a LH drive B7.....now how did that happen as they used my reg and chassis number...the mind boggles , needless to say i'm down there tomorrow morning to give them a right old rollicking.

managed to fit the second catch tank and drycharger cover , that went well until I dropped a 10mm socket, jubilee clip and small grub screw all into the engine bay , now all rolling around on the undertray somewhere, that will have to wait until tomorrow now, surely things cant get any worse, well no they didn't but i'd had enough by now...

Just a quick one for you chaps, can anyone confirm the correct part numbers for the two covers I need for the bulkhead , ones battery cover and then other goes right across, I was going to order them up too but wanted to be 200% sure on the correct part numbers.

cheers
rob.

Picked up a battery cover for mine this morning. One piece and it cover the battery/pollen filter housing but there appears to be abit missing from the left side over the fuse box bit ?

Thats what mine does. Its where the cabin filter housing is. My mates s4 was a better fit for some reason

Yeap 2.0tdi , done abit of looking about and I think this is meant to be the case?

For some reason the diesels have a different one.....you can buy them and swap them over buts it’s a bit of messing about.

like the wheels chap, not keen on that sort of tyre stretch though, a bit is ok but for me that's too much.
Not sure your insurance company would payout either if they saw that and you had a prang or caused one, anyway that aside good work all the same.

I get what you mean and tbh I did want them al lot more stretch but what they are are the min is perfect they fit really well. And my car doesn’t get ragged or driven in a stupid manor to even worry about the car becoming out of control. It’s more of a highly maintained and looked after stance queen lmao

Headed to AmD to get a stage 1 remap. Got some gains I'm very pleased with and the car is so much quicker. It's been a lot of fun.

Also got rid of the 9 spoke alloys and replaced them with DTM alloys, which look much nicer in my opinion.

have fun with that then, getting through is a pain, best way is via the ecu box .....

Deleted the intake flap runners today and replaced my S3 injectors with more S3 injectors to correct a misfire. No pics as I wasn’t working against the clock but I think you guys have seen that stuff before.

The delete was easy and the cold start is an interesting rumble that I honestly don’t mind too much. I’ll see if the tuner can tune it out when I go see him next but not bad at all.

is a rumble or a burble , my old bus allways sounds like a loud burble on cold start ups then quiet downs ....

It’s something in between those two. I’ll have to get a video sometime and post it up. Hard to describe.

Doesn't the runner flap delete cause feeling issues until it' mapped In?

I’m not sure what you mean by feeling but it does cause the cold start issues I was referring to. No check engine light yet so we’ll see what happens in a few days. I’m gonna shoot for next Monday to see if I can get the remap and the tuner to finish my tune.
