Wow what a spec, the car is going to be a stunner for sure. My only quibble, the deletion of badges? I’d want people to see it’s an RS3 ;) Those who you want to keep it from, will notice the car for what it looks like otherwise anyway. Your only advantage will be next to some boy racer’d Corsa at the lights who doesn’t know his Audi’s from his backside. Wait for the expensive A3 brigade to come along ;) Fair to say you’ve done it properly. I’m jealous of your Pano Roof, but I had to stop somewhere.. your spec makes mine look like a poverty spec car haha.

Its just the rear one, it will make the detailing easer!, I think that you can still see its an RS.
My boys said the same, o well its done now can always buy one and put on.
Been swapping and changing different bits for weeks, but as i am a fussy ****** i ended with most of them.

That’s true yes and you have those huge tailpipes to give it away. Agreed, easy to buy one and pop it on at a later date.

Slightly off topic but came across a stunning brand new RS6 in Nardo this morning. I got obliterated! Not surprising considering they are 600hp. Wasn't too far behind up to 60mph from a roll but he fairly took off thereafter! I might have to raid the piggyback...

Off topic here but which door inlays now light up,do all of them now or certain ones

dunes, thank you for that, i don't mind the delete, though the configurator says "Deletion of model and technology badges at rear" so guess they changed that!
How are getting on with the ceramics, are you glad you made the choice.

I'm guessing it's a poor translation from their German description for this option. I believe the "Deletion of model", means the front and rear RS3 badges "and the technology badges at the rear" would refer to items such as "TFSI" or "Quattro" if fitted. It is a poor description though for sure......

Still early days regards the ceramics as I'm only at 350+miles so certainly not driven in anger as yet. If they are as clean to run as ceramics have been suggested then I'll be happy, the RS Q3 I had for the last 15mths was awful for brake dust at the front with the eight pot calipers. I purchased my car for cash and IIRC my options were over £10K, so the actual cost of the ceramics was just lost into the overall total. I have yet to feel any response from the brake pedal to cause me concern and believe that with use I'll be able to get around any reported negatives about running ceramics on the road. Though a lot of my usual journeys are on dual carriageways or motorways, just a consequence of where I live :)

Well, my order is in, the S3 has been an amazing car for the past three years with various people cooing over it, including a very enthusiastic lady from the Audi service team when it was in for an oil change, but it's time to switch things up and move to the RS3.

The spec:

Sportback
Daytona
19in Matt Titanium Wheels
Side assist
Cabon Fibre Engine cover (why not? )
Black mirror caps
Extended leather
High gloss black styling pack
Privacy glass
Mag ride
Auto fold/dimm mirrors
Comfort and Sound Pack (B&O, Hill-Hold, Rear-View Camera, Advanced Key)
Driver Assistance pack (Adaptive Cruise, Active Lane Assist, High-beam Assist, Pre-sense front, Traffic sign recog,
Supersport seats
Matrix LED headlights
pre sense basic
Sports exhaust
TPMS
5-year warranty

I didn't get the discount that some have quoted but having been told by my local dealership that there is 0% discount available and no they will not budge; I ended up getting 5.5% from the dealership who I ordered my S3 through.

I had the option of taking the car in November, but I've opted for a March Delivery. I may regret that decision.

I was lucky to jump on a slot which was already in build. It was close enough to what I was looking for albeit a little too many option boxes ticked but I did manage a pretty decent discount from someone I know at the dealership:

Sportback
Nardo Grey
19in Gloss Black Wheels
Mirrors Black
Auto fold/dimm mirrors
Driver Assistance Pack
Matrix LED headlights
Gloss black styling pack
Front Super Sport seats
Brake calipers in red
Comfort & Sound pack
RS design pack
Privacy glass
Carbon trim
Panoramic glass sunroof
RS Sports Exhaust
TPMS
5 year warranty

After looking around for a new car I decided nothing really took my fancy like the new RS3 saloon, so as of last week I’ve got my order in... still waiting for an order number etc to track it but roughly when do you think I should be hoping to get it? March 2018?

Nardo Grey
19in Gloss Black Wheels
Auto fold/dimm mirrors
Gloss black styling pack
Front Super Sport seats
Red brake calipers
Comfort & Sound pack
RS design pack
Privacy glass
Sports Exhaust
(I think that’s it)

But may tinker with some of the other options in the next week or two

Well that all sounds good to me, I know model badges are great, but having just come from a Mini JCW, they have JCW badges everywhere :whistle2:
I am glad I went for the ceramics, they just look better.

Asked dealer about the new “sport pack” but they can’t find anything - where was this and how do they check it?

That just seems too much for me for an RS3. Been looking at M4's and you can get a new/delivery mileage M4 Competition pack from a main dealer for £52k. I love my RS3, but I'd argue the M4 is the next rung up in terms of raw performance. RS3 now looking extremely pricey and encroaching on the territory of some serious machinery.

All comes down to personal preference too... even if a brand new M4 comp was cheaper, it wouldn’t cross my mind getting one, not a BMW fan at all... yet I can still definitely appreciate why people would go for one

Too many pages to read so apologies if already been covered but are people getting hit for an extra £400 first year tax if they opt for the upgraded wheels?

I’ve ordered the black wheels and down on my breakdown of costs along with my receipt for my deposit, it’s only down as 800 for tax. Asked the chap 3 or 4 times and he said it’s categorically not the 1200 of which I was lead to believe. I half joked with him and said he will be paying the difference if it turns out he’s wrong!

A lot of ours is like this, I haven’t mentioned it and don’t intend on... not my problem the invoice is wrong.

What about the noise as well. One went past me as I was turning left and almost blew me off the road!

News everyone!! Get onto your dealers, Audi have added an “Audi Sport Package” combining the Sports Exhaust, Mag Ride and TPMS for £1700! I’ve selected all 3 options, so I’ve asked them to look at it because it should just be a case of dropping the price unless Audi get funny because I’ve selected individually, I hope not it’s around £500.

Please see attached confirmation.

Where is this from? I can't see it on the Audi site!?

There isn't one. Comfort pack and driver assistassistance packs are the only packs I think

there is one coming I believe - from whats been posted further up but dealers cannot find it at the moment so its not proving useful unless we can point them in the right direction.

Does yours still show status 40 on the tracker neg? Mine has been at that status since Friday - was hoping to get into my by the end of this week :D

Now showing as 40

It was forwarded onto me by a dealer, I can’t say who from because I have no permission to disclose it. I am going to my dealer tomorrow and I’m going to sit there until they phone and speak to Audi UK or the factory, whoever they need to for details to be confirmed.

52k...really? Send me the info

Plenty on Autotrader mate. You'll find a yas marina blue one with 10 miles on the clock from a main dealer for £52k. I doubt I'll switch but I'm booked in for a drive in one next week.

Rear wheel drive below 30mph performance is garbage. Put an M4 side by side with an RS3 at the lights or off a roundabout, in the wet, at a drag strip etc and the RS3 will be about a 1/4 of a mile down the road before the M4 gets going. If the stars align and weather/road conditions are perfect, you may, just may be able to get anywhere near BMW’s 0-60 claims. Coming into the winter now, no chance.

I personally don’t see M3/M4 as more prestige than RS3/TTRS, they’re in the same price bracket and the Audi’s are in a stronger performance bracket

I tend to agree with most of what you've said. Having owned sporty BMWs in the past I found them very frustrating and I definitely agree that on a drag strip or in the wet they are going to lose out. Even so, I stand by my comment that it's the next rung up. An M2 is a fairer comparison price wise to an RS3. M3/4 is more RS4/5 territory.

For me, Audi is charging a touch too much. Especially for optioning cars up. It's quite surprising when you spec up a car outside of the VW/Porsche group just how few options you need to spec. Most Audi's now need another 20% cost on top of the base price for options!

Yes it used to be that way Doc based on pricing but M3/M4 are looking to be a lot more affordable than the RS4/5, as you’ve quite rightly identified you can buy an M3/M4 for specced RS3 money but there’s not a hope in hell you can buy an RS4/5 for M3/M4 money. You’re talking £70-80k for these cars with good spec. Audi have created this anomaly but the cars are new and hopefully within 12-18mths Audi will start offering large contributions towards them.

Let’s be honest, both RS4/5 are not worth £75k price tags. They should naturally be around the £55k band, £60k at a push fully optioned.
