As I have a whole donor car at my disposal and all the mappers seem to far prefer the later ECU I've decided to spend some time converting to the later DBW setup.

Anybody done the swap, aragon has already advised of the need to redo my ignition module delete and that I'll need to pull the clutch switch loom free too.

Also converting to face-lift dash and console while we're at it. Be a busy couple of days lol

If you convert to facelift instrument cluster you'll need to fit the later style engine sump with the oil sensor in it.

There are full pinouts available showing the old vs new connections for the cluster, so splicing them across is easy enough.

You'll need to swap the pedalbox over, as the electronic throttle pedal wont fit on your existing one.

As mentioned before, you'll need to solder the PFL ends onto the FL engine harness to match up with your cars harness, plus add the white plug for the DBW specific parts.

You'll need to fit the DBW throttle body to your engine, and you'll need to add a boost sensor somewhere in your charge pipework before the throttle. The DBW cars have small rubber grommets that fit in where the throttle cable went, so retrieve those and fit them to your car as well.

Probably more stuff that will come to me.

I'm gonna be keeping my eyes on this thread. I am going the flashable ecu route on my fl tqs but have fl s4 pedals, loom and throttle body? compatable? knocking about for a possible conversion

Ah i thaught by dash you meant the cluster rather than the actual dashboard.

Ahh sorry, could have perhaps been clearer. My dash has lifted at the edges and looks crap, I could rebond it but it'll need to come out for that and when I have a perfect dash in the donor car I may as well use it :)
