Hi all

See dodgy photoshop attempt below...

Thoughts?

It is about £150, not sure if it is worth it or not... Obviously will look a bit better than the photoshop in real life

Also car is on a PCP so unsure on that aspect.

Yeah I quite like the splitter, not sure on the skirt extensions

Will have a think over the splitter and see :) Quite liked the one I had on my Focus ST

I have a facelift car so splitter will not fit. Skirts will go with my gloss black rear diffuser and boot spoiler tho :)
Ahh nice!! :D

Looking forward to fitted pics :p

Need to measure up before ordering but I cannot see the PFL being different dimensions to the FL.
Yeah I can't imagine it being different. But as you say, best to be safe and check.

Is that carbon?
And is there a Sportback/Saloon version?
Unfortunately not @batch! Ha it is actually one that you queried in the past on another thread that someone had fitted, it is from Rieger Tuning but they don't have a carbon one :( I would have been tempted by that too

Hydrodip would work well on that...

Ooooo not a bad idea actually!!

Although if it gets scraped somewhere, the plain black would be easier to repair

Hmmm

Also means you could get the cheaper non-glossy one if you're going to get it dipped anyway

For your application, you could always get it wrapped in chrome or satin foil?

Well the splitter looks great, shame it wont fit the facelift.

Those sill extensions look utterly awful though, seriously terrible.

I thought you were making a joke when I saw foil then realised what you meant. Hmm yeah unsure on either satin chrome wrap or leave it gloss black... Think chrome would look tacky though

Anyone who is better with photoshop able to maybe try making it the same colour as the little lip at the bottom of the actual bumper?

I will also give it a go later if I work out how

I am seriously tempted by just the splitter... but unsure on the PCP and how that affects it... I suppose I either leave it on at the end of the 3 years or make sure there is no damage to the bumper underneath

Audi weren't bothered about me fitting a boot lip spoiler to my A4 on PCP, but it was an Audi product.

Good to know @paradigital

Can't edit my first post anymore for some reason but here is a very rubbish silver-ish photoshop job (didn't have the correct technique really, came out too dark, will try again later)

Thanks jassy think I'm going to

Don't normally 'mod' cars really this is as far as it goes for me haha... Like I say though had one on my focus st from TRC and really finished off the look

Just need to decide whether to stick it or investigate if it can be / should be drilled and bolted like the focus one (that had pre-drilled holes in it)

Although it's more hassle to fit, I prefer holes and bolts as it will be easier to remove when I sell the car and won't take half the paint off with it lol

Subtle but not too subtle yeah hopefully it should come pre drilled

Yea wouldn't worry about the PCP aspect. They are pretty relaxed about these kinds of mods.

I got them to spray the rear diffuser of my S5 gloss black to match the BE before I even collected it, as for some reasons it comes in a very dull drab plastic grey...

Seen used cars that are old PCP trade ins with black rings, RS grills, different wing mirror covers, etc.

Splitter looks good to me:)

I know it's a day or two late to the party, but just in case you wanted to see the splitter in brushed silver...

Untitled 2

Not as good as black IMO.

Thanks for the pic! As you say think I prefer black, silver is more obvious but looks a bit out of place.

Any chance you can give some brief steps on how you achieved that in (presumably) Photoshop please?

@azibux1 Ive got it! Get it painted Sepang then wrapped in one of the ventureshield-type films to prevent chips. Perfect.

That's not a bad idea... not sure if it would add much to the overall 'look' though in sepang

Hmmmm too many options ha :D

For the "silver" splitter I simply drew around it with the "polygonal lasso" tool, took a copy into a new layer, inverted the colours of the splitter (dark became light), then played with the layer blending options to get the colour look "about right".

Touched it up by blurring it into the other silver piece of the bumper, then used the sharpen filter to get a decent edge back.

Cool thanks! Good to know :)

Also re having it in sepang @batch, only thing is that in black if it gets scraped it is much easier to touch up with a spray can

I am interested in hydrodipping carbon though, so have contacted a company for a quote

Here's the splitter in Sepang-ish blue. Again, prefer black. Think I prefer silver to this:

Thanks! Yeah I think that's a bit TOO OEM

I think it is either gonna be gloss black or carbon-dipped (if the price for carbon dipping is around £70 max). Partly goes back again to gloss back being easier to repair scrapes on, over the carbon.

Now that looks classy
Fareast one? Or carbon one in the link? One in the link is a bit above my budget I think for something that is very likely to get scraped on the ground at some point.

Just sent off some pics to a hydrodipper for a quote on the one in the OP to be dipped.

Said he usually only does stuff up to 1m long, so something this long would have a half way (in the centre) join in the pattern which sometimes meets nicely and the pattern matches, or other times it is a perfect straight line where the two patterns meet

Save up longer for the one in the link lol
