Hey guys

What do you check when you take delivery of a new car to make sure all is good?
- Paintwork
- Wheels
- Tyres
- Security wheel nut present
- Mileage (<30 miles)
- Front/Passenger Seats bolster + Marks in general
- All options there (check Magnetic Ride present with Drive Select)
- Check iPhone USB <-> Lightning cable present or Android phone equivalent
- Documentation
- 2 sets of keys
- Full tank of fuel
- Spare bottle of oil
- Spare wheel or puncture kit which must include a tyre pump
- Proper floors mats (front and back)

Decent camera to take loads of pics for all the peeps in here :yahoo:
Bright light to check for any swirl marks.
Decent new car playlist :)

Anything else that needs to be checked?
Also under what circumstances would you reject the car? (hoping it doesn't get to that...)

Do we really get a USB / Lightning cable...?

That's quite a good list - I would definitely check all the options are present.

What about checking how much fuel it has...?

A bright light to check for any swirl marks. Unless you've asked them not to wash it???

They will ask what cable(s) you want. I got 3 - miniUSB, USB and old Apple.
I think it's general for the sales guy to set your phone up as well.

Tyre pressures! If you can, the amount of new cars that go out with 60psi in the tyres is unreal!

Most of the things I found under the backseat's of my cars were sticky sweets....They were second hand mind you....lol

Is it standard to get free cables? If so, which ones?

Which MMI cables did you get mate? Did you need to ask they for them or did they ask you in advance etc?

I didn't get any, never needed to use any so I never asked.

Just checked my order form. It says:

Dealer accessories
AMI Cable Yes / No £0.00

Not sure what that means....?

Ah right, what about for the Apple Car Play or android eqv?

Android Auto works fine, there are two USB sockets and a 3.5mm Aux socket in the Phone Box under the armrest.
There are also two SD car slots and a SIM slot in the glove box

USB cable... you need to supply your own I guess.

I keep a USB <> Lightning cable in the car anyway for charging.

That's interesting there's still a sim slot, even tho it has a built-in embedded sim?
