MIGGZ's A3 1.8t - The all rounder build thread

Jesus Miggles, that'll be LOUD!

What tailpipe did you have before?

How are you finding the down turned soot chucker style?

It's really not as loud as I expected, little loud on idle but once it's moving it's as loud as my last setup. Had the same style tailpiece before where I would blow the floor clean, going to make a cut out in the bumper when i have time

so Kyalami day came and went, great success had a awesome time and beat my personal best with a time of 2;08.

decided to keep the car on actuator pressure for the day as i did not have enough time to map the car again before the event. 1st couple of times out every time coming into the pit there would be oil all over the tappet cover, later decided to swap oil caps and that issue was sorted.
next issue i was having is after every session as soon as i get to the pits the oil light would come on the cluster. oil pressure was at 0.9bar, oil temp at 100c, oil level still sweet. Joe did a quick google search and it came up that it could be sensor in the sump, so ignored it.

when it was time to leave the track on the way home the car felt funny as soon as i tapped the brakes stopped the car and went to look at the brakes and saw the cracks through the disk so limped the car home.

here are some vids of the track day

now for some pics....

and the SO got me some nice boots for track

then the fixing

the disks

and changed the sensor

but the light came on again once i got stuck in traffic so im going to replace the pressure sensor next and see if that changes

Dude, I don't want to alarm you here, but 0.9 bar oil pressure is F*CK ALL!

i'm fairly sure on these the warning won't go off below 2000rpm or something daft.

If you have a guage which I'm expecting you do, you want to be looking for 3.5-4.5 bar at 3000rpm, and over 1 bar at idle, all when hot.

What revs is it when it's making the 0.9 bar?

the oil pressure is always higher then the rpm, when im driving normal on the road and the car is hot oil pressure is between 1 bar and 1.2bar on idle, the light came on once 3 weeks before motor build, the light will come one the go away again by it self. my idle is at 700rpm
im using motul 5w40 oil

suppose that doesn't change the fact your warning light is coming on. But prob best to check pressure with a mechanical gauge for accuracy.
Thing is 2 different cars, same mods, different gauges with same readings but mine throws warning light and the other does not

Hey guys

Had the pleasure of going around the track with Miggz in his car and all I can say this car of his hauls A$$. No wonder those discs cracked, damn this cars breaks are insane.
Hope it is that sensor that messing around bud.

Hopefully next years track day I will be following you around the track in "Goldie" be it much further back LOL.:racer::racer::racer:

I hope it's just a sensor too. Darn oil pressure. It's seems not to like you very much. Lols. Those track videos seem like so much fun.

Lol I know right.

Yeah dude track days are epic, made alot of rich boys and bigger cars very unhappy

then my mate CakeKyle was upset that i never used his pictures from dubrun on my thread so here they are

are you happy now cake?

So how does the crowd feel about spanish cars :)

done 260km with new pressure sensor, 34' degree temps doing bumper to bumper traffic and highway constant at like 160km and no light or buzzer yet, so think its safe to say that it might be fine and it was the sensor that was faulty

Liking the porsche alloys mate, do you rate glow shift quite highly? The car looks great on track too.

car feels at home on the track very solid and perfectly stable

yeah i actually do rate Glowshift very high, been using them for the last 5 or 6 years and as of the last year become the only dealer in Africa and its picking up pretty decently here

Did you make the vent pod by yourself? I really like it.
Do you have a DIY?

Turbostatics electronic boost controller

It's controls boost and how you want your boost to come in, switchable map or boost setting like a n75 switch (but without the irritation of having to lift off then back on like i have to do now), egt temp gauge with warning indication, a/f gauge with warning (won't use it as I have my a/f gauge in already) and motor protect function that uses egt temp, so if you have set your egt to 800 and if you in boost and it reaches that temp it instantly cuts the boost back to actuator pressure hence saving the motor.

The nice thing as well is when you flick the switch you can set the gradual increase of boost to come in so its not a huge jump.

Nice thing I can set down the boost for high when i go to the low lands again so I don't have a 0.3bar jump in boost like iv been having.

The unit also has a learn function that it learns how the boost comes in.
