Test drove an S5 at the weekend - on looks alone, its simply one of the most stunning (affordable to me!) cars on the road. Just not quite sure if i will miss the get up and go of the S3. Might take a look at the TTS as an alternative. Just want to try and find a way to stop spending money every month! Cant afford an RS so we shall see.

In exactly the same boat tbh. Fed up of feeling like I need to always spend money on the S. Don’t get me wrong i love it. Like a LOT! It’s like every time I get something new for it I’m looking at the next thing. I kind of wish I just kept it stage 1 lol. S5's are very pretty and i think i could easily live with the power in terms of how it might feel compared to the S3 but I’m more worried about handling. If I was to look at a TTS id just be thinking the same Stage 2+. I definitely can’t afford a RS3, a TTRS is more affordable but again i know I’m going to want to mod it. I have always liked the E92 M3 and you can pick one up for circa £25k with all the goodies. It’s just the running cost I’m scared of. Not fuel but servicing, tires and general maintenance. I think it’s quite easy to forget that although we drive Audis, S3's are not stupidly expensive to maintain. Premium tires all round on your S3 £600 max. Premium tires on your M3 £1000-1200! + I do around 12-16,000 miles a year! So have to think about that! What i love about the M3 (like the S5) is to mod it your looking at £10k+ to get any real power gains. All id do is stick a supersprint on it probably. The other question is do I venture to the dark side?[FONT=&quot][/FONT]

As you said Rye, adore mine to pieces - and its not expensive to maintain. What is expensive is the ease at which money falls out of my wallet to get that "extra few horse power" or that "smoother power delivery". I simply cannot keep doing this else i will end up divorced with a super fast car that i drive 6 miles a day to park at the station so i can commute to work on the train!

Even started looking at the M5 and M6 but in terms of maintenance, they are gonna be eye watering. So i am not sure i want to go down that route. Plus they are BMW's.......

my mate has a S5 with a miltek exhaust on it , it just sounds so so so good man he let me have a blast in it on sunday the noise it makes at high revs is so addictive lol
