+1
I’ve never bought a car which I hadn’t had a test drive in first.
I have at least sat in an RS3 but that was before I went crazy and ordered one.
Still I’m happy to give it a go and as
@jassyo06 says, if we don’t gel then hopefully the RS3 residuals will help with a swap.
In terms of RS3 I’m not 100% convinced but it’s a high enough % that I want to own one to have the experience.(best to do it now before lose the opportunity).
So overall looking forward to 2022
After driving one I’m still not 100% convinced either for a couple of reasons
Negatives.................
£500 road tax plus double the insurance of the Golf
It didn’t blow me away performance wise, I accelerated hard and thought it didnt feel as quick as our Golf.............which it obviously is and then some I would imagine, maybe the Audi sophistication in delivering the performance disguises just how fast it is?
Not overly impressed with the interior especially with no pan roof in the one I drove, dash top looked cheap somehow, it's crying out for either the colour pack or a few more flashes of carbon on the door trims maybe
Steering I thought lacked feel after the Golf, felt too light
It's also my Golf plus £33k and for £33k we could buy a reasonable Motorhome and dissapear into the sunset come summer
Positives.....................
Looks, noise, new (warranty no MOT etc) something different after a run of Golf's
There’s nothing else out there that we like, rivals would be S4, RS4, BMW 340D Touring, A45S Plus, all of which have even more negatives that put me off, RS4 would top the list but I think the mpg would hurt too much and RS4 depreciation is quite high
Engine Gearbox very smooth compared to Golf
Less road noise and more sophisticated than Golf
