I ordered an FL Audi A3 S-Line on the 28th February for delivery in Mid May...

I think you meant to write PFL instead of FL here? Otherwise confused...

So the end June/start July is only your estimation, no info from the dealer yet. I don't know about you but I'd certainly like to know how a car looked like before I placed an order for it. Still, since the discount you got wasn't that great I don't see it as much of a problem cancelling and chasing a better deal, hard to be worse anyway. However I don't know for how long you can still order a PFL or if you can even order a PFL as we speak. Depends pretty much how quickly you need the car. Unless my dealer surprises me tomorrow with something like 12% I will be sticking with my current car until the FL comes out and I know all details and prices. Also, if your budget was maxed out to afford the -7% PFL then you might be needing to pay more for the same spec FL. Personally at this point, and If I already had a car (as I do) I'd wait.

Sorry, yes I meant PFL... Not in a huge rush to get a new car, other than my on impatience lol The End June early July is not my estimate but my dealer.

Ok then that makes sense. I think your dealer is a bit optimistic though unless we have news before the end of this month. I know impatience, in fact I find it hard resisting an order of the PFL S3 but I've said to myself open this page and take a look at both cars every time you are just about to place an order for the PFL...

June/July is the normal point for the factory to make changes from one Model Year to the next so it is quite likely that once the facelift details are released and it is open for orders it will still be around early June before they actually start making them.

Does anyone know if the RS3 will get the facelift in May?
Not sure, Have only seen spy shots for the A3, S3 & E-Tron, but nothing for the RS3. Audi America have shown the RS3 Sedan which looks to have some of the facelift features, so assume it cant be far off. Looking forward to Audi releasing some information, whenever that may be! Want to see what bang i can get for my buck!

Yeah me too! I'm hoping they will release details in the next week or so at some motor show event very soon.....

More likely to be the middle of April.

Over the past few years Audi UK have sent out details of the Model Year changes to the dealer in mid-April.

Lets hope so... I have a decision to make and the sooner they announce details the better.

I've got a build week 22 which is end of May for delivery in July, dealer hasn't said anything about its going to be a facelift and I got a good discount on the car. This is for a S3 Saloon. As far as I know deal has been done and that's the car I'm getting.

So orders are still going through for PFL models? Trying to get hold of my dealer for a couple of days now without success

We signed for an S3 SB last week and still don't have an order number as the sales person has been on a course all this week. I have no idea what whether it will be a FL or PFL but I have asked them to confirm what the situation is, hopefully I will hear something early next week.

Well I test drove a pre facelift, specced a pre facelift, had a brochure for a prefacelift and got a price for that car all signed by the dealership, there was nothing said that my order would be different from the car I drove. The dealer said s3 orders have gone through the roof and the next build slot was May. I will ask him when I contact him next what's going on.

Tried to order an A3 SB 1.4 COD but was told that all non assigned cars had been cancelled apparently i was 24-48 hrs too late approximately 19SB wiped off the stock list, according to orangewheels and car file.

Only other hope is to find one currently in stock that isn't a specced up Christmas tree!

Hopefully if the build slot is May you should be OK as the production of the facelift version will not start until at least June/July. When I visited the factory a few years ago I was told it normally takes around 2 weeks to change from one model to another if it's only a facelift and around 4 weeks if it's a new model mainly because because of the extra testing that is required.

It's could b3 a stock car they had on order whose build week hadn't been locked down yet.

When I insisted i wanted to change my order despite it being on lock down looking at stock orders was the first thing my dealer did. Unfortunately for me none were open to be spec changed.

Does anyone know if the RS3 will get the facelift in May?

No it wont, the first RS3 with new face lift will be the New Saloon RS3 with the all new lighter aluminium block/engine, giving out just over 400bhp...with a price tag to match

RS3 saloon not available in the USA until middle of 2017 for all those hanging out for the facelift ;)

TX.

I'm guessing the RS3 facelift won't hit the uk until 2017 then!

Easily.... but l wish you guys would stop naming it a face lift, its NOT...the difference will be... nominal....the only things that will really change are the expensive options...along side a new front grill

You never know, Audi UK may introduce Tech Pack as "standard" (along with a price increase, of course) ;)

(have to keep up with other marques in this respect)

I hope not. The Tech Pack is not something I would want to have to pay for...

I went to my local Audi dealership today to look at the A3 Saloon, been struggling to choose between the Daytona Grey and Misano Red (what do you think guys?), the sales manager told me they've stopped accepting orders for the A3 due to the new facelift and changeover to the new model which he expects to happen the back end of summer. I understand this doesn't necessarily apply to the S and RS models but it seems I won't be ordering my new A3 from Cardiff Audi! I spoke to Bridgend Audi which is a Sytner dealership, they are still accepting orders however.

Daytona grey....:friends:

I would go Daytona grey, unless you are a keen detailer and prepared to see every mark on misano!

It all seems very unusual that each dealerships seems to be differing on wether or not an order can be placed.

It seems a bit early to be stopping orders for delivery "back end of summer"?

According to another post on here the factory have stopped accepting any more orders, so if that is the case it does not matter what a dealer says - no more orders being accepted means no more orders being accepted. If a dealer says otherwise he is just trying to get you to accept one they already have or is already on the way.

Production of the facelift model will almost certainly begin June/July with the usual delivery times. I'm off on holiday with my A3 to Germany in a few weeks. I wonder what their dealers will be saying?

Hi All,

well I am so glad I found your forums. I ordered an A3 a couple of weeks ago and came across this post when I was searching for information on build times. The dealer rang me up on Friday and told me that the build date was (I forget exact week) but late June, with delivery either late July or August. I was a bit surprised at a 5 month wait, but now I am a bit upset. I had no idea there was a facelift this year and the dealer kindly kept that information from me. I am calling them to see if there is something I can do, but I don't really want to wait for 5 months and have a car delivered which is outdated before its even arrived.

I just wondered if any of you had any experience with similar things, but I really want the facelift model and would prefer to wait for an extra couple of months.. should the dealer be accommodating or am I screwed having placed the order and paid deposit?

Based on those time scales you might be OK and have the FL. I'm have a similar conundrum in that I ordered without knowledge of their being a FL immenant. However, my build date is in week 16 (mid April) for arrival in Mid May. So I am almost certain to have the PFL. Part of me wants to wait a little longer and get the FL but the other part is impatient and wants it as soon as possible which means the PFL. Still very much undecided?

I called my dealer today. They said all the orders they put through last week have been cancelled so mine was the last A3 PFL order. They allowed me to cancel my order and are going to contact me when the details of the new model have been released, so this is what I have done. Will wait and see hopefully if they cancelled orders of A3s now it wont be too long.

Daytona looks premium, red looks dull...

Because nothing looks brighter than grey on a grey day on a grey road...when playing Madness' Grey Day..after watching 50 shades of grey...(please see sig before taking offence! lol)

I've just had a response from the dealer saying they have heard nothing from Audi regarding any updates to the A3/S3 and as our car hasn't even gone into production yet it will be the latest model. Very cryptic and still none the wiser whether we will get the FL or PFL!

Sounds like they're simply covering their own backs as, like us, they know very little!
