Why are these knee pads so expensive?

Yes, not happy with my finish. Ive just purchased white stitching to have another go. I had the red stitching. The guide, RS3 retro fit is perfect.

Looking at the eBay photos the quality of the leather leaves much to be desired for. I might get mine dipped as I’m too cheap to buy the original RS3 ones for £200!
