Where to buy a cheap audi code reader

I'm looking for a cheap audi code reader for my 1.6tdi. Brought one off ebay and it did not work with my car, found out after it doesn't work on cars newer than 2009 ( very misleading. ) never even said that on the item description.

Any thoughts on a code reader that works but not too expensive?

If all you want to do is read and clear fault codes off the ECU and be able to see some of the live data Torque Pro is quite good.
It's an app on Android phones assuming you haven't got an I phone.

I use one of these with my car and it works fine. Also works on just about any other car with a normal OBD socket.

I'm confused, I downloaded the app but it needs an adaptor which was around €50. You know the ebay link does that go with the app? How does it work exactly?

You plug the bluetooth dongle into the OBD socket on the car. The phone then connects via bluetooth with the dongle and talks to the ECU to read the codes and measurement data.

Thanks for that, only issue I have is I have a blackberry and an iphone not a samsung lol :/ is there any for ios? I'm looking but don't know whether it will suit the app or not

Not sure about blackberry phones. You may need a different adaptor to the one I linked too.
