Hi, just had a call from the local dealership as they have my car for a free winter healthcheck.

I need new front tyres and the rears arent far off needing replacing too, which is all fine.

But they mentioned that I could also do with a wheel alignment, which is about £450 with them!

I assume that I dont actually need this, although is sensible and also that its a lot cheaper elsewhere like Kwikfit or the likes?

thanks in advance

Is that £450 for just wheel alignment!?

I use Protyre who charge about £30 per corner. Would advise getting it done after tyres are fitted

YES! £468 actually! Then £220 per tyre! Just called Kwikfit, they can align all four for £80! Geezer almost choked on his coffee when i told him how much the dealership want!

I'd also shop around for the tyres cos like for like they will defo be cheaper. Can prolly get better brands and spec for same price.

Tyreleader or Blackcircle for tyres, 4 wheel alignment from my local Audi dealership was £120 about 3 months ago, although I got this free as they owed me a favour.

Shop around is my advise, Audi stealerships are always more expensive.

Where are you based? There is a good chance there will be a local independent VAG specialist that should be a bit more trust worthy with your car than kwikfit! Also as above, shop around for your tyres and you’ll save yourself the cost of your alignment

Audi dealers are great. They offer a free healthcheck and they always manage to find something that needs doing. Where would we be without them?
