using vcds on an audi 80 1992.

Can i use my vcds on my mates audi 80, 1992 model, will it show up faults like my audi a4 2007 model.
I KNOW I NEED A DIFFERENT CABLE, BUT JUST WANTED TO CHECK THE AUDI 80 IS CAPABLE OF GENERATING FAULT CODES VIA THE DIAGNOSTIC PLUG.

Don't see why not.
I can check codes on my car audi A6 1997. I used the 2 pin white and 2 pin black connector for it to work.

I got that cable at home.
It a 2x2 cable that converts in to a ODBII connection.
