Up and down idle when coming to a stop

So my S3 has hit 44K and I’ve only just had the DSG service, I know a little late! The car is running miles better now as it was starting to get clunky in 3,4 and 5 gear changes. One thing I have noticed though that hasn’t gone away, is when I’m coming to a stop at a set of lights / junction, slow right down, I don’t think the car knows what gear to select. 1st or 2nd, So whilst it’s like sat there going roughly 5mph it’s always reviving up and down. I Noticed it started doing it a while back and though the DSG service should have cured this but obviously not

Any ideas guys ?

I think that mine does something similar. I've had it for just over 2 years and is now over 4 years old, but it has done it all the time I've had it. Mine will often do it sat idling at lights or whatever, it ticks over at a 'normal' level then will speed up for a few seconds then drop to 'normal' again. Not a huge change, 100 or 200 rpm maybe but noticeable. I wondered if it might just be usual.
