There's a lovely Suzuka grey rs4 at Watford audi, looks great! My dad's booked in a test drive for it, wonder what he'll think of it!
Not sure I want one now after reading this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ar-crash-shot-gunmen-mopeds-100mph-chase.html Anyways......went to Audi near my work today and had a chat. It's not my dealer but just thought I'd do a make sense test on deals available and finance figures. Oddly and weirdly the guy I spoke with tried putting me off getting one! He said that yep it's nice and yep it makes a good noise but he reckons it would be badly in negative equity in 3 years time and then I would probably move away from the brand because there would be no cash from it to put in to the next car after it! I thanked him for his concern LOL He thinks waiting for the RS3 was a better bet......also reckons the B9 S4 is going to be pretty tasty also with 370 P.S. After bit more chat I found out they have a fully loaded black pack RS4 in stock in some exclusive purple but it's £72k. It wasn't there (was in the compound) but obviously not for me at that price. Long and short of it was £4k Audi contribution, £4.7k discount on the car and with £6k from me would get it on my drive for £562 per month on 3 year term / 5,000 miles P.A. That's with sports pack, Suzuka, heated seats and black glass. Bit more than I expected and delivery would be May / June. Didn't discuss my S3 (I kept him in the dark on that front).
Haha, gold plated pension indeed Sports Pack = Bargian. Hence why I said, "Sports Pack" !!! BH - Does SWMBO think you've gone barking mad?
I resemble that remark @koder lol Yeh 'twas a ***** job tho' Saw things people shouldn't see and 'met' people who you shouldn't meet Scant recompense IMHO Housework now beckons ...
She does, but says she thought that some time ago, but the 'RS4 scenario' as she calls it, just confirms I'm not cured! Cheek! Lol
So made any decisions then buddy? I must admit the May/June delivery time could be the deal breaker for me TBH I ordered my S3 in the 1st week in August & have been without a car since October, so unless I can find a stock car near to the spec I want I may have to consider my options I have contacted Coventry Audi over one of their stock RS4's to see where they are with prices on stock ones. I'm waiting for a reply ...
Respect BH. Have a good family friend who retired at 49 after getting to commander in the Met. They wanted to him to stay but his body couldn't really take any more. "Gold plated pension" didn't really help make him feel better about various injures and ailments.... Anyways....housework and cleaning the RS4 - that's what you can add to your tasks! I'm going to see my dealer on Saturday. The only thing that's playing on my mind is I would probably lose £2.7k cash I put in my S3 and then got to find £5k odd for the RS4. Bit more man maths is needed I think and a few more nights to sleep on it......
Ok Folks here comes the sense of reason / Mr boring etc. Call me Devils Ade. Performing a public service for you horsepower crazy fools! Pulp 84 - you were worried about your current car esp after getting it keyed. This in a whole different league of worry. BH: Look again at that lovely S3 you have been wanting for 4 months. Take more than a couple of days in changing your mind... Both of you - are you sure you want an estate as opposed to a saloon? - have a look again at the costs - have a look again at that interior. - its a dated interior with an amazing engine. Just adding a bit of the other side of your thinking.
Yep all good points. Fair one regarding "worrying" about the S3 - yes, it would be worse for the RS4. Estate is fine with me. Just in process of ordering my new company car and it's a toss up between C Class and E Class estate. I also need to give Mrs Pulp a bambino soon. In fact if I get an RS4 I suspect that will be her "compensation" ! Estate will be very handy on that front. Interior is actually really nice on the RS4 - materials are much better than on normal A4. MMI is the full system - it just doesn't have touch. Steering wheel etc is the same as current generation A3 / S3. You make a good point - enjoy the fabulous V8 and slightly older interior or do I keep my S3 which has modern tech and good interior but a bit lacking dynamically?
I personally think the styling and shape of the B8 RS4 estate is just sublime. Never once thought about the lack of a saloon being a factor.
Some valid points there TBH I must admit the additional 5 or so months wait could be the decider for me. Like you say I've waited long enough for the S3 Estate would work as well as the saloon for me. Doesn't really bother me either way. But I will say the RS4 does suit the Avant bodyshell Running costs - Insurance at £280 for me, I'm aware of the 20-25mpg, servicing costs don't seem to bad, car tax at £485 / year (which I knew about), tyres not too bad (http://www.camskill.co.uk/m63b0s787...0_inch_R20_inch_-_265_30_20_265_30R20_OE_Audi) Had a sit in a new RS4 today at my local Dealers and found it rather a nice place to be. Especially like the front RS seats in optional full leather. There's more tech in the RS4 than I have spec'ed on my S3, so enough to keep me busy Can't beat a normally aspirated V8 lump! Don't think we will be seeing this type of engine anymore in any forthcoming RS models, so do I itch that scratch?
BH I'll go for the RS4 if you can afford the additional costs it's def bargain with the deals about, think about how much the next RS4 going cost £65k+. I've had my S3 saloon for a few weeks now and it's a cracking car but the RS4 is in totally different league in terms of noise/ N/A power and looks all areas are superior. I was in my local Audi showroom sitting in the limited edition and though the interior is more dated the quality of the material (seats/ switchgear used in RS model) was actually far high grade then the S3 IMHO.
The way I look at these things is with PCP - it can be a transient thing - hand the car back after 3 years and walk away or use it as a deposit for the next car. In both those situations getting rid of it isn't your concern, if you no longer want it! Or if you're not bored of it after 3 years, hang onto it!
Kings Lynn have a full loaded Suzuka RS4 in their showroom Paul, and I'm sure you could swing 10% plus finance contribution
Kings Lynn audi were doing deals last year of 10% plus finance contribution, have a word with Fraser Burdett (sales manager) and they did have a full loaded Suzuka sitting in their showroom too
Andrew the problem there being the starting price if it's fully loaded it's going to be into the £60k's I'm supposed to be doing the loft conversion and another extension on the house this year.....so I'm dreaming Buy I really do like the RS4's Tempted very temped
Just had an email back from Coventry Audi about an enquiry I made thro' carwow on one of their 'stock' RS4's, of which they have 11 (eleven) in stock remarkably This was their reply - 'Unfortunately we cannot compete on price with this model. Due to this vehicle being limited allocation this would be our best offer' So basically they are saying the price for a discounted factory order RS4 is the same as the discount on a 'stock' car! Unbelievable! BTW Coventry Audi's discount on a MRRP of £60,195 RS4 was £3521 with Audi finance How they come by this when Audi Uk is offering a £4,000 contribution when using their PCP finance, baffles me ...
BH, Ive just been speaking to Clare Fletcher at Cambridge Audi (part of Vindis) and they have a few RS4's in stock including a Suzuka Grey, they're up for a deal and I'm sure they would offer 10% pre vat (they're margin is 13.5%) plus the finance contribution from Audi Finance.
Not a problem, I've been emailing Clare about an RS4/6 so I've mentioned that you maybe calling her. I also mentioned that youre looking for 10% pre vat plus deposit contribution
Waiting for a call back from Clare as we speak Just had a call back from orangewheels who are matching DTD's discount of 13.4% (on retail price as opposed to OTR price) exactly on a factory order RS4 Finance figures are the same too
Had a read through this thread. Did I read correctly that you would be paying a 6k deposit, then the guts of 600 quid a month, and then be limited to 5k miles a year??
Your only limited to 5,000 miles if you "return" the car at the end of the agreement. If you trade it in before hand then it's not a concern. I personally do 5000 odd miles a year purely social / pleasure so not really an issue
There are some pretty tempting deals to be had, it seems like. Shame the 4% APR isn't available on other models like S3 saloons (likely due to the RS4 almost being end-of-the-line). Next one hasn't even been announced yet though, so should be a while before it shows up (I think RS3 and facelift RSQ3 this year, then maybe TTRS again next year first?) and will be after the S4 comes out anyway, which I think is 2016 but might just be a 2016 MY so out this year. The biggest concern I'd have with leasing a car is the lack of modification allowed. You could get away with maybe changing the wheels, and sticking the original ones back on at the end, but remapping would be a no-no. I was/semi-still am looking at the RS3 if they hurry up and announce the saloon but I'd want to go the big turbo route eventually, and not have to wait until the 3 years is up before doing it. Buying a car outright is just better so it immediately becomes 'yours' and you can do what you like with it. Sure, you won't have the same budget as a financed deal, but for now I think I'm sticking with my usual route and will just wait until something exciting comes down to the £30k mark.
Carbon pack looks loverly buddy Don't think my *** would fit in those seats lol Any more pics of your RS4?
^^^^^ that's just porn. I've just told Mrs Pulp to leave me alone and go to sleep. I'm staying on ASN for a few minutes more before I go to turn in.......
A few more for you Mr H... She's finished in Audi Exclusive Sprint Blue, has every option except exclusive trim package, 174 mph limiter and rear airbags.
^^^^ Carbon ceramics are delicious. In fact that whole car is spectacular. I hope saturday I can do a deal.......got serious RS4 envy!
Thanks Mr Pulp, oh forgot two more options I didn't spec, the TV DVB set up and the Aluminium Paint pack to the front splitter and re diffuser.
Ohhhhhhh that is surely a thing of great beauty. Gorgeous RS4 buddy! PS You been pinching ashtrays out of A3's? +1 on that my friend
