I have an A4 B8 2011 and tried using the carista app to turn on the option for the car to remember if the stop/start was turned on/off before the engine was turned off, since as of now it turns back on when the engine is restarted. However, even though the option has been selected in the app, my car still reverts back to turning it on. Has anyone been able to set it?

I use VCDS.
- Go to Module 09-Cent. Elec.
- Enter Security Code (shown up by default) (mine was 20113)
- Go to Adaptation, Type Channel 34 and hit Read button, it should show the factory default number in value window.
- Subtract 4 from factory default number/value to disable Start&Stop every time engine is started.

I used Carista to disable Stop/Start altogether.

Happy days. :)

In two minds of using Carista to disable my stop/start all together.

I find it useful when you are stood still in traffic for more than 30 seconds at a time. But less than that I end up hitting the stop/start OFF button all the time or dip the clutch just before this feature kicks in.

My other concern is about the starter motor, ware & tear on it with all these short stop/starts. Is it up to it?
