Got the oil level ight on at the weekend and a oil service due in 2 weeks warning so I topped it up with Castrol Edge 0-30 and wondered whether it would extend the service interval. Well it didn't so i called Stoke Audi to check the cost before booking it in. They wanted £190 to change the oil! After giving them short shrift, I rang Crewe Audi and they wanted £197. I found a local VAG independent - BVR Automotive who did it for £65 with a VAG approved spec fully synthetic oil. The place was clean and it looked a decent setup to be fair so:

If all you want is oil and filter go to to National Tyres, they did my oil and filter for under £40 last time I went.

The Audi oil service is not just changing out oil but includes the following:

  • Replace Engine Oil
  • Replace Oil Filter
  • Check tyre treads and pressures
  • Check exhaust
  • Check lights
  • Re-set service indicator

I usually take mine to Equippe Auto Tyre care.... usually let me take my own oil down as im very picky with what oil goes in my cars and the fact that they know me makes a difference lol! just charge £30 for the filter + change process....

Obviously the garage did the filter and reset the service indicator - lights, treads and pressures is a weekly thing anyway.

just saying... it covers stealership labour costs for things most peeps diy
:uhm: @ the cost of it! no way justified.

I had my major service+brake fluid change, cost me £410 at Audi dealer. A rip off but I think its worth it. Clutch and steering wheel feel much lighter before service.

Audi, do fixed price servicing, £149 for oil service which includers a free health check , full service costs £299 its on the Audi web site so how Crewe Audi want £197 I really don't know..... all dealers should charge the same here is the link
Fixed-price servicing < Servicing with Audi < Owners area < Audi UK

Cheers
Fixed price servicing is only for cars over 3 years old. The prices are higher for cars "in warranty" because Audi think they have a captive audience. In reality, they do because, although block exemption legislation exists, your Audi will maintain stronger residuals with Audi dealer stamps in the book.

However' I still wouldn't give them £200 for an oil change
