A subject that comes up reasonably often, but for those who’s search-fu is weak, I just checked if the winter rims from my A4 would fit the 2018 S3. They do, with about 10mm spare over the front calliper, so enough room for balance weights (mine have all fallen off, guess the wheels were damp when the refurb-er put them on). The rims I’ve got are an Audi OEM one, 17 x 7.5j ET45 running 225/50x17 Nokian A3’s. These aren’t homologated for the S3, and are around 10mm greater in diameter resulting in a +1.5% increase in speed over the stock 235/35x19’s on the 19 x 8j ET49 rims. The only homolgated 17” rims I could find were 6j’s for the Japanese market, but although that suggested mine would be ok I wanted to check for myself. Would have been expensive to replace the winters as I have 5 and paid £80 a rim for a (very good - shout out to Sean at Alloy Stars in Aylesbury) refurb.

1.5% is nothing... For Audi A3 sweet spot is 18'' balance btw look and achieved speed ... would never put 17'' on an S3 ...

I agree 1.5% is small, the homologated tyre size is also 1.5% out, but the other way. The 17’s are winters, and the tyres are (or were) quite a bit cheaper than the 18’s. Plus I already had them :sunglasses:
