S3 Engine making sounds i'm not sure of?

Only been a S3 owner for less than a week and love the car but as i've never owned one before i just want to make sure these sounds are normal or not?

First one, it sounds like the exhaust is blowing when cold but the sound is coming from the front of the engine not the back? sound fine when warmed up.

Second one, It sounds like there is a slight tap from the top of the engine, ok some other makes of cars like Fords do this and it comes from the tappets and there are others that making a tapping noise from the fuel injectors.

Haven't spent any time trying to find these noise's yet

The first noise is a leaky secondary air injection pump. It can be removed and the silly rivets replaced with nuts and bolts to stop the leak. The second is possibly the cam chain tensioner assuming its from the rear of the engine. If its just up top it could be due an oil change maybe and a good flush

Just been home and my Vagscanner code reader has come

Plugged it in and its come up with 4 codes

16487 mass or airflow circuit high input, maybe due to a low battery if found with 17988

18010 Power supply ) B+ ) Terminal 30 low voltage

16795 secondary air injector system

16717 not in the book for some reason?
