OK..... Did my s tronic audi s3 8v gearbox oil change with filter..... Car was nice and hot as I'd driven to work.
Drained oil, whilst that was still draining... I got on with removing the filter, I then put back snorkel underneath, nip the plug and filled from the top, I used 6 litres (waste of some oil I know).
Fitted filter, got car upto temp using vcds.... Was 39 degrees and I undid drain plug, let excess drain out and fitted the drain plug back.
Don't know how much oil came out, at the very beginning, but measuring the excess that came out was 1 litre and around 400ml....so my cars took around 4.5/4.6 litres .
Is this about right?
Only driven 20 miles, everything seems to be OK.
I did bosses car next day, a3 2015 tdi s tronic.... That's held exactly 5 litres.... Just wondering why one's held more than the other... Or do I need top mine up with around 400+ ml?
