Lovely cars. Few years back I also upgraded from a Golf R to RS3 PFL. Golf actually handled noticeably better but the noise, drama, interior etc of the RS3 were just on a different level. With alot More spare time on my hands recently i thought i would give my new RS3 a good clean
Ive had it about 3 weeks now, absolutely love it! The noise is out of this world.
I decided to give my workhorse a clean aswell. Golf R estate. Both great cars and i read alot of members have moved up from the Golf R to the Rs3 and read alot of members comparisons. In my opinion the Rs3 is worlds apart from the R. Both great cars but the Rs3 is next level in terms of noise, build quality and mine feels alot quicker than the R. Much more than i expected.
I didn’t realise you went for a porker after the TTRS. The 991.2 is my favourite porker from this century....what was your thoughts on it? Out of the cars chosen, if you need a bit of space then the FL RS3 pre WTLP and if you don’t need the space then the TTRS. The TTRS is a stunning car which you will know very wellLovely cars. Had a drive later in a FL RS3 and they massively improved the handling, much more like the Golf with it turning in so much better. But I wasn’t impressed with the noise. However, I must say after having owned a TTRS that the noise really grew on me.
I recently sold my 991.2 C4S as I just missed the 5 cylinder engine. I now can’t decide if it’s a PFL or FL RS3 or back to TTRS!
Porsche had incredible handling. I’d obviously heard that but to drive it fast, the front end is just amazing. But...while the engine was effective, it just wasn’t anywhere near as good as the TT. Bear in mind the TT was also stage 1. Also wasn’t a big fan of the Porsche’s interior. Again, TT way ahead.I didn’t realise you went for a porker after the TTRS. Some idiot Doctor on day time tv with piers morhan said we shouldn't be cleaning cars during the lockdown as its not essential.View attachment 200677 View attachment 200678 Anybody else taking advantage of the lockdown and good weather to give the motor a good polish? Let’s see ‘em!![]()
Yes it’s annoying but I use the waterless wash and wax every few days to remove the dust, works a treat.I cleaned my car, it was windy next day and so my car was dirty again 12 hours after cleaning it, grrr.

I agree, I also like the OEM look, this is maybe too aftermarket sportish, but my Rotors are curb damaged, all 4. I picked these rims because of ultra light weight. Aldo I'm not sure are they more sensitive on potholes, and will they endure..Not my choice . Original Rotors look far more RS IMHO
Here is my new toy picked up from the showroom today and now at the detailers. This is the quick before snap in the reveal room, View attachment 204860 and will post once ppf'd.

Hi Pete, Not being nosey.. Wish the PPF detailers openly advertise the price for a typical car such as out of the factory price to 1 year road damaged etc... I am having a full body covering with Ceramic/protection all around inside and outside. With VAT mine will be just over 10% of the price of the car and normally require the car to be left with them for 6 full days fully insured. Unfortunately, due to the lockdown the detailer is swamped with cars on the backlog so wont start on mine for 2 weeks. For me rather the car sits in a covered secure storage area than me driving it around for 2 weeks and pick up stone chips as the roads around here are worse than gravel tracks.
Yes, 10% of the price of the car, was a real shock as I was expecting around 5% ~£2K ish... however, the RS3 will be a keeper for the next 5-9 years and importantly the supplier was recommended by word of mouth. Mano
Love that purple! What % tint is that? About to get tints soon...Mine just got back from full PPF, Gtechniq Halo and front window tint. Set me back around AUD$6K.

Wow 20% looks much lighter on this car. Good to know!privacy glass at the back, 20% at the front
Thanks mate..Croatia? Lovely country.
Have to say I actually do like those wheels, and they'll certainly be lighter/stronger than the factory rotors.
Thats a little high. Front car ppf like you said, including gtechniq ceramic exo coating, full detail inside and out from quotes I had were £2kI was quoted around £1,600 for front and side ppf but also included removing the ceramic coating I had...didn’t bother in the end though!
A remap will certainly completely change the car!View attachment 212665
Over 2 and a half years with this and still looking pretty good. Struggling to decide what to move on to, or whether a post warranty celebratory visit to infinit performance may make the next 3y as good as the last!
