Originally I placed an order for an A1 through my work lease scheme but realised that the price I was paying was similar to that of an S3 direct through the dealer that received the A1 order. I spoke to the dealer and they took some of my details to do a finance check. I left them to it over the weekend and got an email from them saying that the finance had been approved. I then asked for details of the finance package and what the lead time would be, expecting a formal quote. The next email from the dealer said that they had placed the order and they sent the confirmation pdf showing price etc. quoting a November delivery.
Here's the thing - at the time drivethedeal weren't taking orders on the S3 so I just decided to go with the dealer as we had originally discussed a monthly payment on PCP that suited my budget. I've just got an email from drivethedeal saying they will take S3 orders now and the quote is about £4k cheaper than my current order. Given that I haven't actually signed any paperwork other than the finance check form what is my position in terms of negotiating a discount to match the drivethedeal quote? Can I cancel my order with no cost to myself and go with drivethedeal if their finance suits me?
I know the best thing to do is to speak to the dealer but any kind of experience of this kind of thing would be much appreciated.
