Hi to all, I've just bought a 12 plate rs3 in a custom purple colour.
So far I'm totally impressed with the car but never had an audi before, its only done 20000 miles. I would never use the dealership again but I'm hoping I bought a good car.

Fabulous choice Bricklejon. Solid enthusiasts of the 8P RS3 here. Very few issues with the 8P RS3 other than silly low speed brake squeal but not all cars suffer, otherwise a bullet proof machine. Into my 6th year of ownership. Enjoy.

Hi, welcome to Audi-sport.net. Any pics of the car? Why would you not use dealership again?

Hi yes of course I'll post some pics. I wouldn't use dealership again because they lied on many occasions and it was supposed to have full audi service history and from what I can see they haven't even serviced it only reset the service thingy

Welcome to the forum, nice choice for a first Audi.
I hope that wasn't an Audi dealership treating you like that, with such a high spec car.

No it was a sports specialist dealer but you live and learn if it wasn't for the car I would have backed out

Your local Audi dealer will be able to provide FULL Audi service history as it'll be on their ElsaPro database, so check with them and if necessary give it a STD 20000-mile service, for example:

AUDI RS3 EVERY 2-YEARS:
Change Engine Oil and Oil Filter
Change Brake Fluid
Change Dust and Pollen Filter
Service Air Conditioning unit
Check Front and Rear Lamps
Check Horn
Check Windscreen Wiper and Wash System
Check Wiper Blades
Check Headlamp Wash
Check Tyre Tread Depth/Wear
Check Tyre Pressure Check and Adjust
Check Tyre Repair Canister Date Expiry
Check Brake Pad Thickness
Check and Clean Plenum Chamber and Water Drain Valve
Check Battery
Check Track-rods, Track Control Links, Ball Joints, Guide Bearings, Drive-shafts
Inspect from Below Engine and Gearbox and Drive Component
Inspect Body for Corrosion etc
Re-set Service Interval Display

AUDI RS3 EVERY 4-YEARS:
Change Haldex Coupling Oil
Check Warning and Indicator Lamps
Check Brake System for Leaks and Damage
Check Under-body for Loose Fasteners and/or Wiring and/or Damage
Check Antifreeze Level and Concentration
Check Hydraulic Fluid Level

Thank you for that, I've seen an audi tuning company nearby that will do 20000 mile service plus plugs for £470 ish. Or should I go to main dealer.

Also, early cars had a number of updates though not applicable to all cars; check with your local Audi dealer if any or all have been done:

39E1: Haldex
20T9: Fuel Pump
SVM01A098: ECU
SVM02A039: ECU
661G: Offside inner wheel duct
46F8: Offside front brake duct
4716: Brake caliper, brake pads and brake discs
48J6: (checksum error only)
TPI2029738: Code change for the rear license plate illumination, rear wipe, etc
2029184/1: Passenger sport seat - which has been reported as noisy (rattles)

Note: the 47i6 upgrade was only applied to cars where the customer complained; if completed your car will have front brake discs with the part number: 8P0.615.301.B (look for the 'B' suffix)

I'd go Main Dealer first and check the cars Service and Update history. Independent Garages you can do later but best check what you've purchased first. Note: I recently purchased a twin-charge 185bhp Audi A1 unseen from an Audi Dealer but had my local Audi Dealer do a 4th year service and at the same time checked service and update history; I now know 100% what I have. So just sayin' what I'd do and have done myself.

Yes makes complete sense, thanks

Superb looking motor car; good choice, well done...

You might like to move into the 8P RS3 section if only to join the rest of us 8P RS3 fans :yahoo:

Okay I'll see if I can do that on my laptop as the mobile with tapatalk seems a bit more restricted

Is the colour of your RS3 "Black Cherry" like so:

Black Cherry

Stunning! Much prefer yours to this as its similar to mine is base colour all over rather than the 'silver', and with a black grille surround too, nice.

Yep, it's an Audi Exclusive colour as is mine with a similar extended lead time; love it...

I had a remapped astra j vxr before (300 bhp) which I thought was very quick but the RS3 will leave it behind, a long way, which has amazed me.
I have no idea if its still standard but the signs look like it is.

Nothing in the Audi arsenal I'd swap my 8P RS3 for, and a lot of people, especially those at Stafford Audi, already know that.
