New owner - RS4 B8 Warranty advice

Hi All,

Yesterday I put a deposit down on a 2013 RS4 with 95,000 on the clock. It’s been serviced frequently by Audi.

it comes with 3 months warranty and I’m being quoted £1300 for a years gold warranty with Warrantywise.

What’s everyone’s opinions on this? Is this good value?

Oh, I’m well excited by the way. It’s taken me months to settle on my purchase having flip flopped between S4s, S6s and BiTdis!!

Congrats on the purchase, how about getting a quote from Audi? You can do it on their website. Enjoy...

Check that warranty with a fine tooth comb, very expensive car to fix & aftermarket warranties are mostly rubbish, so go over it fully before you complete.

Would agree, check and check again. I came unstuck recently on this very point with warranty wise. It was a parts listed warranty, my oil cooler broke and dropped a lot of oil on the side of the M4. They did not cover it and also stated they part failed due to wear and tear. The mechanic said it was clearly a sudden failure of the part which caused the car to breakdown. Warranty wise said the mechanic did not state that on their claim form, but they did not ask or request photos. If they did, they would of seen the damage to the cooler, and it being sudden.

I also brought a 2013 with 97k on the clock full Audi history, which checked out and all the items appeared to have been done on time too. So I was comfortable purchasing. Safe to say, budget for the unexpected even if you think your covered.

Due to age and mileage of our cars they will wriggle and wriggle out of paying. FYI, the oil cooler was £800 for the genuine part alone then fitted by specialist.

Luckily no other damage was done as pulled over as soon as oil pressure dropped and did not restart the engine.

Worth having the warranty for sure, but read and check with them on specific items. You can adapt warranty’s to include specific parts for extra cost i imagine.
