Has anyone done this?

The risk worth the reward?

I've seen a few DIY videos and folks claim it's easy and the heating and twisting seems a lot more difficult than it actually is.

Also, as I have a 2010 A6 le mans CVT multitronic will the knob off the S3 fit even with the adaptations to the plastic rod?

I.e will the gaitor and boot fit the A6?

All I would change is the gear knob and the steering wheel potentially. Otherwise despite being a 10 year old car I am more than happy with the aesthetics.

Cheers

Pic of current needed, it was my mod originally lol.

This is the same one.

I found an s3 (just says s line) front trigger shifter with boot on ebay. Thinking of getting it if I go down this route.

My other option are these lift shifters from BFI or Euro impulse with the adapter for the plastic rod. Around £200 but with no risk.

Weighing up the options.

Struggling to find a flat bottom steering wheel on the cheap with the paddle shift and the square style airbag preparation.

Yeap that can be swapped & use existing gaitor, with the mod of course.
