Large amount of water comes out of the top right of rear tail-gate on my Avant

Hello there. Have noticed recently that when I open the tailgate on my Avant water starts pouring out of the top right hand corner...the amount varies on how heavy it has rained. Have also notice that the third brake light has been working on and off so obviously linked to the water getting in. Has anyone had this same issue, if so how did you resolve it?

Washed and waxed the car yesterday, noticed that the rear window is starting to de-laminate...hence all the water in the tailgate...this is going to be costly!!
