Immobiliser Help

Hi,

I have a 1999 1.8T and have an issue with the immobiliser.

I have both keys and intermittently buit getting worse the immobiliser light will not go out and the car wont start.

Am I right in concluding its the coil in the ignition and if it is does anyone know how to replace and what cost I am looking at?
