I have been doing some quite extensive research into getting a hybrid k03 (k03 with k04 internals). From what i have read CR turbos seem to be a good bet for hydridising the turbo. is there any other good/reasonablely priced companies out there that do this sort of thing?

Another thing i would like to ask is all of the other associated parts i would need to get to do this. I already have a FMIC, CAI, 3" downpipe and exhaust, forge 007 dv and a forge tip on its way.
I believe i need to get better injectors (i have heard yellow top injectors from the vauxhall c20let engine would work) possibly a better fuel pump (LCR one?) and a 3" maf housing. anything else i need?

also, as far as mapping it goes i dont know where to start. would it be a stage 3 map i need?? I have read that badge bill knows his stuff regarding this upgrade so any info would be great!

Sorry about the essay, just trying to work it all out!

Cheers

Liam

Don't know about those but if you go proper K03 hybrid from the likes of CR Turbos, it turns it into what is effectively a K04... you will need S3/TT(225)/Leon Cupra R injectors, 3" MAF and a new TIP (as I understand the comp housing inlet is K04 size too).

There maybe some other stuff you need too...

Bill's stage 3 mapping is £550 + vat, thats what it has cost me to get my car done recently.

The Ibiza's I have see Bill map with the hybrids on produce very good power indeed.

could somebody confirm about getting a tip to suit the k04? as i was led to believe that the hyrbid was externally identical to the k03/s therefore having the same diameter comp housing.

LET injectors are EV1 the same as the injectors you have but 340cc @ 3 bar as opposed to the 325 from the TT/S3 so slightly more flow, and cheaper generally too.

I would of thought the tip would of been the same, as its a k03s with k04 internals, you send in your k03s it returns with 100 more bhp ! :D

And im from drayton just outside portsmouth mate.

Bill had someone today call him and say his CR Turbos K03 hybrid had a 49mm compressor inlet. (sure thats what he said)

The K04 on the shelf was 51ish mm, a K03 taken off a Polo was 45mm and a K03 on the shelf from a 2000 A3 was 39mm (IIRC)

Go figure... guessing the K03 tip may fit but I would prob measure the comp inlet to be sure.

Bill may be able to shed some light on this later...

the forge TIPs need to be trimmed for length anyhows, and do stretch over the slightly larger TIP on the hybrids I have seen.

You are gonna be looking at £600 of anyones money for a decent stage 3 remap.

Doesn't matter thats its still a K04.... FWIW, Bill has loads of experience with this very setup as its a popular choice of the Ibiza boys on SCN... Bill's stage 3 is £550+vat which is money well spent for the experience the man has IMO...

Just spoke to the guy at west tuning, he recons between 6-800 quid for a custom remap.
he said if i'm changing the injectors and maf it makes things quite difficult therefore the price being so high, espescially on the earlier throttle cabled a3's.

I have been in comunications with Nick @ R-tech £389 will get you a bespoke map. Either emulated on the RR or from logs and tweaked.

I am hoping to have mine done on the RR as soon as i have fitted my Hybrid and won the Lotto.
