Over the last few week's a few member's are thinking of fitting coilover, so i'm thinking if there a few us who a ready to splash the cash we may get a good deal if we go in for a group buy from someone like Awesome GTI or Venome Motorsport's for example...

It would be great if we could save a few £££ going in for a group buy. Also someone may know of a company that can offer discount on fitting as last year i paid the gut's £300 to have them fitted..

Any idea's would be great.

great idea i might be interested price dependant and if the saving is too good to miss.

as for fitting there simple enough to fit done a few in my time (not on audis mind) 300 notes sounds a bit steep for fitting in my opinion
however the cost might be relevant if it included setting them up correctly ie camber toe etc this does take time and is normaly only available a certain/specialist garages (some coilovers dont come with camber n toe ajustment mind so setting them up would be fairly simple as its only the height and firmness of dampeners that need setting up)

hope thas of some use
great idea bowt the group by too

Yes, I'm looking to buy some asap - I know Jim @ Awesome has recently been advertising on his Facebook page that they will fit coilovers purchased from them for £150. I think thats the most I'd be prepaired to pay for fitting. I want some KW / Variants or something similar.

If there is enough interst I can have a word with him if you want to see if there are any deals to be stuck?

The fitting of the rear's is very simple but the front's are a pig due to the suspension arm's. Yes the car will then require 4 wheel alignment using a Hunter system or similar..

Great stuff Awesome have a good reputation.

i paid £800 from PSI TUNING to supply and fir wietec coilovers, the coilovers where £650 and fiting was £150, this included tracking etc, it took them 6 hours in total as one of the bolts where seized, they didnt charge any extra because of this

So a few of us have had some some experience with coilover's. We now need to send email's out the various company's to see what sort of feedback we get CHRISS555 said he will drop Tim at awesome gti a email/pm. I will email Venom motor sport's . We also need some number's of member's who 100% want coilover's, again type and brand will also need tobe added.

I'd be interested also. Just fitted wheel spacers (If you remember CMD) and coilovers would finish it off nicely

interested in this guys! 100% getting coils.

Personally think im going for weitec hicon gt's - so far the best price ive had for a set is £582.52 from Reuben at Tuning Werkes

I already stated let's draw up a short list of coilover brand's and can anyone else contact dealer's / companies to get some sort of discount.

FK's, Eibach, KW's, Weitec, from venom (i will contact them)

CHRIS55 will contact Awesome GTI for best discount on KW's

If anyone want's to add a company please do, a simple email asking about discount for ASN member's and the amount of unit's required.

Ill drop Tuning werkes another message if you like fella?

sent a pm over to Tuning werkes just awaiting reply. Was planning to order today but ill hold fire 2 secs incase

As above weitecs would be me choice as seem best priced and still good reviews

Had a reply from rueben. From what I can gather they can offer £100 discount off kw coils up until the end of the month with a group buy. Later than that they will still work out a deal can also offer discounted price on the weitecs but will need definate numbers to know how much ..

Anyone else heard back yet? Lookin to sort mine asap so if people arnt 100% best to say.

Hope that helps

Josh

Sounds good.. So what would the £100 off at Tuning Werkes make the price of a set of KW V1's

Roughly £650 i think for the kw v1's dude, this is a limited offer on them though so once thats up they may be a little more.

Hes more than happy with group buys though and can certainly knock money off other brands for them just a case of getting interest together obviously :icon_thumright:

I have spoken to Venom and they are asking what coilover's we are looking at buying. Are all the B6's front wheel drive, and are any of the B6's TDI's as again they are different, and how many set's do we need ..

Is this the Kw kit (V1)

Mines same as yours dude, fwd 1.8t 190

Ive been asked by a few companies if its got climate control and if 6 speed also so they may ask that too

KW and AP are the same company and they are the exact setup (no helper spring) as my old AP's. When i had these i spoke direct to AP who told me they are made by KW's.. These gave me grief from day one..The V1's are exactly the same.

hmm.. what else you looked at then?

I know that kw>weitec>ap are manufactured in the same place but the inner workings are slightly different ive been told as you go up price wise.

not heard a bad word against weitecs - likewise with the kw's

See now when i looked into reviews and feedback on fk's it was all pretty negative :\

Tricky choice this. I think im sticking weitec myself, heard of a few running them on b6's specificly too and no problems

Point's to remember they should come with helper spring's on the front shock's but only a single spring and a adjusting platform for the rear's.. What or Who is going to fit your coilover's when you get them.

A friend in work knows someone with a garage so he is doing me a little hobble

I can't make my mind up on the 3 types of FK's as i stated last week when myself and S4twiggy fitted them to my wife's VW Polo the quality/build is good and the 30% uprated was not crash, bang, wallop and felt better than the 9 month old GMax spring and shock combo, nice and quiet also not like the AP's

personally if your going fk id say avoid the ak range. obviously have no personal experience but from googling/trawling through owners clubs for info they are constantly refered to as proper budget and on the same level as ebay specials. Also read of a fair few shock leaks etc with them

I hads weitec in the mk4 as they were made by KW so thats what i'd go for

I've not heard back from Awesome yet? Will chase today.

Just on a seperate and possibly confusing note, mine is a Quattro B6 1.8T Convertible - I'm not sure whether mine would be the same as a saloon model or not?

They sometimes show coilovers fitting the Avant and Convertible Quattro models and a seperate part no for the saloon.

I'm not sure why though

This may seem a daft question but for those of us that currently have the existing Audi suspension should we consider looking at replacing any other parts at the same time? e.g. bushes etc??

Also, is anybody interested in using PSi Tuning in Stoke on Trent? If so, their fitting cost is £150 which includes wheel allignment. I'm just thinking that if people are closer to one dealer than another maybe we should shout up now?!
