Help with mfsw retrofit

Hi there guys,

I tried searching but i didnt find what i was looking for.

I'm trying to retrofit an a4 b7 audi mfsw on an a3 8p friends car. I got a complete 2nd hand steering column, so, can i use the steering wheel, the slip ring and the module from an audi a4 2006 b7 on an a3 8p 2006? Modules part is 8e0 953 549 Q / k0105114410

I tried this before. On the one I tried the A4 slip ring was different and the connector wouldn’t fit and steering module wouldn’t communicate either.

The steering wheels themselves were interchangeable. You may have different versions / year though.

You may have to get the right parts from an A3 or Golf.

I may have a spare highline steering module in the garage if you find you do need one.

The connector didnt comunicate with tha car or the steering wheel? I have the steering wheel, the slip ring and the control module, they all came off from the same car, so my problem would be getting the car to comunicate with the control module if i understood you well
