Yes Danny. If you need any help with it etc just message me mate, I've had to learn a lot about installing it as some of the issues I've had haven't really been covered before.
From what I've read I don't think they'll sort it either. I've been told now by two seperate companies that this is what is needed for my 57 reg a3 https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/171354188404
Or this one if its an older model https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/350731704782
I've been looking into it for ages today, basically this eBay lead is an active lead that sends power to the rear amp/speakers therefore turning them on and powering them properly. The reason they are quiet after changing headunits is because the new unit isn't giving out enough power in the way that it is connected with the leads you get with the new head unit.
You must have bought the wrong one, there is one that ends with 01 and one that ends with 02 one is for newer connections and one for the older connections, you have bought the right thing just the one for the wrong modelTried to fit the ct53-au01 adaptor and it doesn't match the convections on the car, at this point I was pulling my hair out, with the car dash in bits I drove down to the local halfords, got speaking to their audio guy who was very helpful and seemed to knew what he was doing.
After looking over the wiring we came to the conclusion that the rear amp is getting power, this was verdified by the power feed going to the amp wiring and when disconnected he tears stopped working, it seems the HU just can't equaliser the sound properly between the front and rear, after 5 minutes playing the equaliser settings we got a good medium and tbh I'm happy with it, just means you can't have the whole system ear bleedingly loud which now I'm knocking on (26 haha) and baby here I'm not bothered.
Sorry mate but I've tea through the thread and have become slightly lost in it all. What do you suggest to help?Have a look at my thread on the last page I think I have the solution to fix your problem.
