vr6gordy...

What bolt snapped and what is the actual part you have bought off e-bay?

8e0 505 311 t got this off ebay and the bolt i snapped holds the drop link

Have no idea what that part number is?

I take it the bolt you snapped was one of the 2 that holds the bottom of the droplink to the hub carrier?

If so then I think all of the hub carriers are the same, sometimes the different letter suffixes are just later versions rather than a different part, but without etka I have no way of checking...

You could try phoning the dealer Monday to find out if it will fit....

According to ETKA....

8E0 505 311 T is for a B6 (2001-2005)
8E0 505 311 AF is for a B7 (2005-2008/9) @ ~£155

It does not say they are compatible or interchangeable - which ETKA would normally indicate under "Remarks".
