Hey there,

after looking into these for knowledge purposes only, i'm a bit confused and would hope some one could explain (without just spouting about why BOV's are sh#te for your car :) ).

I know upgraded DV's are available, i have one. But what kind of confused me is that there are BOV's that replace the DV's, such as this on listed on ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLUE-UNIV...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2318546aae

and others that don't seem to replace the DV but sit further up/ down the air flow, such as:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161304615371?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

then there are DV's which make a BOV sound?!?!

can anyone explain (in layman's terms) what's the diff is as can't find a straight answer anyway.

hope to make sense of this soon :)

cheers

cheers for that,

the torquecars does give probably the best/ simple explanation I've ever read but there's nothing about the positioning of the BOV.

just keen to know, as it's common knowledge that the BOV's on my car (B6) are a bad thing, but is there any diff (better or worse) if you left the DV where it is and fitted the BOV some where else into the system.

I get that you'll still confuse the MAF and cause rich fuel because of some loss of pressure but with the DV been there, surely it would compensate a little?

hope someone can help as it's bugging me a little lol
